Ever played Twisted insurrection? I think it has solved the problem with lack of funds.

The tiberium fields would never run out of tiberium thanks to invisible lightposts scattered in every field which spawn tiberium in addition to the tree, so you can just keep churning out units as long as you got harvesters.

^ Well thats the gist of what TI did, and I think it is great.

Has MO ever thought of doing this with it's Ore fields? I can't tell you how many times a big epic match grinds to a painful haul because the ore does not grow back fast enough...

At a time it did so but this pretty much discouraged players to explore the map and ending up turtling than to explore the map for additional resources which usually are outside the base

Interesting point. I guess you could put in more ore drills per field. As long as the ore can grow back good enough so that the fights never stop on any given map.

SIDE THING:

It is too damn bad that EA said no to the whole STANDALONE thingy. You guys think it'll ever happen? That's the greatness about TI.

I liken TI similar to MO, and vice versa. TI is the super upgrade mod for TS, wheres MO is the super upgrade mod for YR. 2.0 is still alot of fun, but 3.0 is looking like it is gonna be on the level of TI. The whole atmosphere of the game refined, upgraded, improved.

Managing how and when to use your cash is also a vital thing to remember when playing the game. Sure they did that infinite resource in Dune 2000 but I guess they wanted the players to think more here so you wouldn't just be lagging the game by just building hundreds and hundreds of units.

The reason TI is Standalone is because first & foremost now Free. Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge can still be bought (Though now its only bundled in that Omega Decade Thingy)

Although Apocalypse Rising & TS : Reborn are based on Renegade which isn't free as of yet. That was more of a case of Renegade not living up to the demand that EA wanted for its sales. So those 2 mods are a case of subtley also promoting people to buy the game I guess.

Well I've been using invisible ore spreaders for a long while now. They provide a little more ore around drills however it is in such small quantities that it takes ages to collect a full load making it always more efficient to move to a new field.

As long as the spice flows, so that theres always some money to be made, so that there can always be blood to shed, this game will rock.

Just need it to be standalone to be perfect.
