I know you're probably sick of this model by now, but it's almost over.... ;p I have fixed topology, texturing and UV mapping for all meshes (body, crown & cloth) except the sceptre which I'm minutes away for finishing now. I'm just contemplating wether I should keep the dangling goblin skulls or if I should scrap them for the in game model. Might look funny since they wont move around, but be static. And I could save about 50-100 polys if I skip them... What do you think? Sceptre is about 900 polys excluding them and that means the complete Great Goblin model will be approx 5000 polys all in all. I think that's pretty ok for such a detailed model after all =)

So skulls - keep or lose?  :trickydick:

I agree... the two small dots are not nescessary in game. So, finally after much ordeal, here is the final finished product - texturized, retopologized and UV mapped ready to be shipped for rigging. 5280 polys all in all =)

One down, only the rest of the units left to design. Not bad, not bad at all. On a side note, thought about using a normal map to highlight the lumps?

Toes, yeah... I kinda drew the line somewhere. Most models don't even have hands, so...

Don't rellay like "normal maps" if you refer to those as it makes the model reflect light =/

As for the rest, there are not that many with crucial need left. I got Azog and Bolg donated. They are very low poly, but they'll do until I find motivation to sculpt them. If I do, that would be for fun though, not out of nescessity. We do need a basic unit for the goblins of Goblin Town though, but with some luck I will have that made for SEE by a contributor. Same goes for the hunter orcs of Gundabad (warg riders). For the dwarven faction, there are some modeling work needed for the heroes though, but I will try to find help with that.

The new Hobbit movies has certianly added to the work load  :trickydick:
