Hello I'd like to play MO 3.0 (and may be other mods) using Desura.
I have Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge installed, they are the original games each one in their box, not first decade. Then I installed Desura, and it does not detect the game installation.
I am using Windows 8.1.
Please I need some help.

Hello. I've been trying to get this mod to work for about a week now, and I just can't seem to get it to even start.
Everytime I start up the launcher and press "Launch Mental Omega," it will immediately pop up with an error that says "Main executable for Mental Omega has stopped working."
I have installed .NET 3.5 and 4.0 and just about every other version that has been suggested. I have removed the wsock32.dll (it may be worthy to note it only appeared the first time I installed MO.)
I am using Windows 7. I know that a similar error appears in RA2/YR when the compatibility mode isn't set to WindowsME/98. I don't know if MO's problems are related to that. RA2/YR work fine on my computer. I have version 1.001 . This error also occurs on another mod that I have that uses the ares.dll if that has anything to do with it. I do not have these two mods installed at the same time. I have installed both on different "clean" version of RA2.
I have tried installing Mental Omega on my original RA2/YR set, the TFD version, and the free online version that was in your install guide. All gave the same exact error. It still makes a syringue log, so I have attatched that. Thank you for any help in the future. This mod looks great!

Your antivirus program prevents Syringe to inject Ares into YR.

Thanks for the response.
But when I disable AVG, it still comes up with the same error... is there a special way I have to "exclude" Syringe from its protection? Or do I have to remove the antivirus software in place of a more suitable one?

Every time I try to delete wsock32.dll, it reappears in my RA2/YR directory, and it usually will not let me delete the file, saying it is in use with "Syringe.exe", and when I try to run it normally, nothing happens. I am using windows 7, and the Ultimate Collection version of YR.

wsock32.dll is generated everytime with CnCNet launch. The crash regarding wsock happens when a player used CnCNet allong with the Understorm LAN patch afaik... tho I dunno this since I myself never got said crash.

Well, to simplify things, it says: cannot replace wsock32.dll. Please remove this file from your game directory for auto-update to work. then, it says: Couldn't replace wsock32.dll. check your permissions! that is what it says.

Good morning/afternoon/night!
Lately I'm having many rants with the game. I don't got any clue about the issue, I mean, there's something that I can't figure it out (also rants comes from the 'super brutal' AI and the fact of there's no save/load feature).
Every time, when I play Mental Omega, I try to avoid swithcing programs or applications or just minimize the game in order to going to Desktop, because, when I restore the MO to FULL window again, the screen turns black. I mean, the game stills running but I can't see anything! I can still hearing the BGM and see the mouse cursor.
Also, sometimes when I launch the game, it comes an error. That's not shown as a pop-up but the same Black Screen... I don't know what it's comming on.
I'm waiting for answers or just hints, even things about Ares, just to be calm.
Note: I'm using a Toshiba laptop, 4GB of RAM memory. My OS is Windows 8.1
I am not running at windowed mode.
