The time has come! After months of development, Mental Omega 3.0 is finally here!

Furthering the Red Alert 2 legacy, Mental Omega builds on what was established by Westwood Studios and expands upon the conflict between the Allies, Soviets, and Yuri's Epsilon. Enhanced with the powerful Ares DLL, Mental Omega 3.0 strives to bring new features to Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 Yuri’s Revenge while maintaining a strong sense of gameplay balance. Mental Omega 3.0 continues where the first Red Alert left off and branches out into an expanded universe with brand new missions for all three factions.

Mental Omega 3.0 requires a working installation of Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge to be played. All releases (original 2001 release, The First Decade, The Ultimate Collection etc.) are compatible with it.

Extending the Red Alert 2 legacy, Mental Omega builds on shamelessly crushes into oblivion what's been established by Westwood Studios and expands the conflict between the Allies, Soviets and Yuri's Epsilon.

Fixed for you. :p

It is not done, Proselytes.

It has only begun.

I think, the story-briefing must be on loading screen, which will wait for your key-press to continue when loading is finished.

Right now not everyone will read the story briefing

That would be preferable, but we can't do it due to some limitations.

So can you highlight the briefing button, so newer players will click it to read mission and story briefing? Can you do it like it happens in tutorial missions with highlighting buttons aka "Click this, click that"

I doubt it can be done, because that's different than clicking on unit profiles.

Another idea. Can you add slideshow videos with probably some key artworks around mission (like new units, location screenshot) like you did with ACT 1 shot?

I mean make a short 1 minute video with just flat text and artworks/units of current mission. Well, I suggesting you to make individual 1-slide intro before each mission, similar to what you did with ACT 1 before 1st mission of each campaign. Here is my vision how it should be before 1st mission (before 2nd and other missions it's just without ACT 1)

So you mean like make pseudo Loading Screen Videos like the ones in Generals then?

I really like the idea! I know people might object to the walls of text, but this way, people who are interested in the story don't have to go nosing around in the briefing section, which ideally should be a concise summary of what's happening and what to do.

I'd prefer not to do it via a video so that translated versions also have those briefings. We'll see what can be done..

Look at SC1:BroodWar - small wall of text just as video, without any photos, just flat text that can be skipped by ESC

So you mean like make pseudo Loading Screen Videos like the ones in Generals then?

Yeah, that can be skipped by ESC if player already know the story/briefing about current mission.

I'd prefer not to do it via a video so that translated versions also have those briefings. We'll see what can be done..

Why you can't do different "video-shots" for different localizations? These are just flat text on some background.

But best case and variant would be if you will figure out how to add "Press any key to continue" to loading screen

Hopefully Ares will introduce something like that at some point!

I'll gladly ask for your help with the loading screens when that happens. :p

Please direct your questions to the general RA2/YR modding forums here on Revora. You will be able to find an answer there more easily.

The point of a non-public beta is that it isn't public. Of course you can't download it until it's public.
