I can give you the usual answer for that: No. Until the Ares development continues, saving won't be fixed, as it takes too much time and resources to implement a feature that will be broken in subsequent updates.

I probably should have figured that would be the answer, and the amount of time it's been asked. I did not know the specific reason though which is nice. I guess it's good Speeder is making the missions easier in the next update then. Replaying 'Happy Birthday' 5 times because I lost Morales to a dog got on my nerves and I'm not going to even go into how futile it would be for me to attempt most of the Epsilon missions where every mission is like that.

I do have a suggestion to that effect. Try to make future missions simpler, not necessarily easier, but simpler. Repeating the first segment of 'Bad Apple' or 'Happy Birthday' is just annoying when you get continuously get stuck on the second part.

While I agree with you, I can also say that "Bad Apple" and "Happy Birthday" are actually some of the easiest missions in MO BR1, compared to the later missions that are just impossible for more inexperienced players.

 

But yeah. Having a super complex and long mission with critical units is just unreasonable and actually unhealthy. Unreasonable because it's really killing motivation if you play so much only to lose because of a silly mistake. Unhealthy, because it's been shown in studies that too long games/levels have negative effect on the player's body due to extreme exhaustion. This is why, even in games that have no saving feature, there are autosaves and checkpoints here and there, so you can take a break whenever you want.

 

Of course, when it comes to map design, it is actually quite a normal happening that the map designer might make a map too long or complex. In other genres, like FPS and similar, this can be fixed by either cutting padded parts of the level that are unnecessary, or cutting the level to two separate levels. I wonder how that would work in a RTS game like RA2, if some long, complex missions would be cut to two missions... hmm.

 

But anyway, I think I read somewhere, that in BR2, many of the slow, complex, long missions will be made more faster, and Easy and Normal difficulties will be a lot more balanced for less experienced players, while Mental difficulty will stay the same impossible some people here like. :p

I think Scorpion Cell and Latin Confederation should get some kind of amphibious, naval or air unit to help them in naval maps (Islands). They're the least popular in the game mode Islands because of their lack of variety and flexibility, I mean Pacific Front has Kappas and Norio, US has Warhawks, Russia has Wolfhounds, China has Dragonflies, HQ has Irkalla and PsiCorps has Marauder, Magnetron and Epsilon Elite. (Vultures are not very helpful against ships or vehicles).

 

Actually I think there could probably be some more naval expansion like I've mentioned in the past.. But the Factions Naval advantages are inconsistent in my opinion. PsiCorps is clearly a more favorable faction over Headquarters or Scorpion Cell because of their amphibious units, Allies are debatable, and Russia and China have Wolfhounds and EMP, but LC and SC are pale in comparison.

Its fun if the campaign's difficulty are just like in brain dead in yr. this is not very hard

 

i hope in skirmish game each subfaction has a own team color.

I hope the difficulty of campaigns just
like in
brain dead in yr.
I say this because for me the 1v7
battle was easy or medium mode not
hard. Then i easy play ra2 just like
computer.

I suggest that you add a cameo to the soviet medical outpost. I know it is not buildable, but it would make the life of map designers easier, if we wanted to make it buildable on our map. Also, perhaps you should paint the red cross on its top permanentaly red, not remapable (same for civ hospital).

I suppose, including any nations where battling takes place in, like the North African nations Scorpion Cell is operating in. Maybe even include unafffiliated national armies for campaign and mapping puposes. For instance, The Egyption national army that uses mix of units from multiple factions or generic stuff like an infantry unit used by all the unaffiliated armies (similar to the scrapped Chinese soldier from 2.0).

Or recycle the Sniper, Remove its deploy ability and turn it entirely into a SEAL Counterpart.
