I'd go out of my way and say that I think most of the missions are so damn hard because they are designed -too well-. Yes, I think the missions are incredibly well designed, but that's the problem with them. It's kinda like the Evil Overlord List, Everything is so well done that you as a player can rarely outsmart the enemy. You find a hole in the maze? Too bad, there are terror drones behind the tree you can't see nor destroy. Things like that. In a way, the best design is to have flaws in the levels, "non-designed" flaws the variety of player may or may not able to notice and use it to their advantage.

As for my votes, I think most of them are self evident, with the exception of Peace Treaty, which everyone seems to like, but me. It's the mission I got stuck on 'till I decided to just go through the missions using cheats. But it's not really the difficulty why I think it's bad, It's the lack of tactical logic. You have a base there, dear Soviets, why the hell you don't build the Beacon there?? You're saying that the stadium is the best location for it (even though it's only a few meters from the base)? Then build the base around the stadium!

There's a program called CheatEngine. It's a third party program that can basically hack any game while it is running, freezing values and whatnot, basically creating cheats. It only works with single player games however, so it's mostly safe to use. I use it mostly to look at those missions I can't handle and see how they work. (Also I use it so I can actually see the story of the game.)

Ahh i know that. Is there a way to edit a unit's health or attack? Cuz i know money is obviously hackable.

There's a way to have invincible units, but it's quite buggy, especially in MO.

The rules.ini can do that.

Oh. Dear god, where do I begin... To be honest, there's only a few missions that I have issues with. Allies are perfect, I just suck at RTSes... (should play original Mental Omega campaign for practice :p)

However, the Soviets and the Epsilon have some of the more unfair missions. Shipwrecked, which I didn't vote for, is beatable, but you get SWARMED almost as soon as the mission begins! ON EASY!

The two missions I have the biggest gripes with are as follows:

Soviet 11: Unshakeable: Dear god. It's not immediately apparent that the Hijacker is meant as bait for the attack dog near the tech lab, but that's excusable since it only takes a minute to figure out. The rest of the mission falls apart after your initial wave lands.

Like what many others have stated, the twist happens much too quickly, and the main mission mechanic (I'm not giving out spoilers) also comes at a shock, and it's barely manageable, even with the improved taskforce. Also, the area around the Plot Structure is much too fortified, so if you lose Morales and/or the Scud Launchers, consider yourself doomed.

I'd say give players the chance to at least capture the base with the Tech Lab before bringing in the twist, and more Scuds would be useful. Or much smaller fortification around said Plot Structure so it's possible to capture the Soviet Con Yard near it and use the empty tanks there.

Epsilon 12: Moonlight: I get it's Epsilon's last mission, but damn, who knew the first truly stable base where you get your first signs of Epsilon army would be the most difficult part? The initial base is HELL to even crack, and the time limit until the main Russian force arives, while generous is still almost unnecessary, considering you don't even get an MCV in this mission until you raid the second or third rockets. Also, much like Shipwrecked, the enemy will SWARM your attempts at a base, making holding the damned thing near impossible! Although the defences placed around were useful, it still doesn't help that the Russians love their Wolfhounds a bit too much and Flak Troopers and Tsivils utterly outrange your Wolfhounds.

Once again, I'm kind of a pansy when it comes to RTSes, my main achievements were beating Dawn of War II and most of the command and conquer campaigns on easy so... my opinions might not mean much.

I played RA1, RA2+YR, RA3, TS+FS, TW+KW and CNC4 all on easy mode. And original RA2+YR hard mode = MO easy mode and I never played RA2+YR hard mode before and I can accomplish MO easy mode at least. Normal mode I'm barely coping it.

For Shipwrecked easy, I don't remember the enemy swarming me until I got 10k credits for Rashidi. For Unshakable it's manageable after you perform trial and error for a few times, either through the upward route or downward route. Center route is too risky and time consuming. For Moonlight, manage with different kind of units and hold enemies at choke points. Keep Wolfhounds and your base on guard 24/7 and plan for attacks with Wolfhounds + tanks

Shipwrecked is the one where you start with the Allied base, not the one where you have to collect money for Rashidi.

The Lunatic - Whoever designed this mission is certainly deserving of the name. How the hell am I supposed to get Volkov and Chtizkoi to clear out the AA defenses fast enough before the Kirov reaches land first? I could never get them onto the other side of the cliff before the Kirov gets there first, where it gets promptly shot down by Sentinels. Also, Soviets, here's an idea: why not send MULTIPLE automated Kirovs? At least that way at least one of them gets past the AA defenses. But I digress.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After you reach the second Tesla Coil and the path that leads down and up again, charge Chitzkoi to that Sentinel you find first(the one over the cliff).

Also Chitzkoi will lure all the units in its path and you can easy get Volkov to kill them. Then just split up(chitzkoi for the sentinels and volkov for the Tesla Reactors to shut down the Flak Cannons). Pretty easy mission IMO.

You may check how I completed this mission on normal difficulty if you don't mind.

You just need to move aggressively.
At first let Volkov clear the way to the slope where you'll be encountering a garrisoned battle bunker.(See the vid at 3:00) Do not waste your time on unnecessary units.
Shoot the barrel to destroy it and then let Chitzkoi go left and clear some infantries along its way until it reaches that sentinel and take it out.
Terror drones can't attack Chitzkoi so you don't need to care about them, just let Volkol deal with them later.

When you reach the 2nd slope, I suggest that you let Volkol eliminated the other sentinel on the right side of the tesla coil. Do not let Chitzkoi do it(See what happens in 7:27...it got stuck -_-). After destroying that sentinel, set Volkol and Chitzkoi apart.
Let Volkov go left for the tesla reactors ASAP and come back to the right, but watch out for the terror drones on his way; let Chitzkoi clear the enemy troops on the right as much as possible.

You must split Chitzkoi and Volkov near the hill - Chitzkoi to take over Halftracks and Sentinel plus Troops, Volkov to take care of Tesla Reactors. Then you need only to destroy Tech SAM Bunker and watch out for Terror Drones.

My bad. Shipwrecked was okay also... just that the aircraft carriers are annoying towards the end lol.
