So, lets just list our favorite mappers.

All my favorite mappers came from Rise of the Witch King

TheNotorious for New Mirkwood Realm, BFME Soccer, and BattleWagon Race

Eliec for the DeepingWall and City of the Kings

Puppeteer for maps (can't remember them)

Those maps were just epic to play online and fool around with. Whenever I hosted a server with those maps, everyone immediately joined.

If I had to choose... probably Haldir and Fudge's. There's such detail, it's magnificent.

BFME:

-Fredius - Weathertop, Linhir pretty much most of the maps he's made for my mod.

I haven't played any one else's maps in the other games but I do remember checking out NJM's map pack and liked his Swanfleet map.

All of the maps Fudge, Haldir, MtL, and NjM made do it for me.

From the old, old days, Steve Campden (HEL) is a great shout. I spent far too many hours trying to find good maps (before I started making my own) and his stood out. I found lots of other good BFME 1 mappers who contributed towards RA/TDH - for instance the guy who made Eregion made a great map yet it was the only one he ever made! Lots of other good mappers but I've forgotten who's who and who did what...

I'd like to think I was pretty good too! Nice to see some mentions. Weathertop took hours of work just to try and replicate the stone formations as per the films. But Haldir surpassed me after he came on board with TDH - Erebor is ridiculous.

BfME:

That was my first one! Ended up remaking it a few years later to improve the texturing/balance/lore (and to make the mini map less phallic).

Fudge's maps are just as good or better than most of mine, and he always gives himself too little credit :p

I definitely wouldn't have been mapping without matt's tutorials and the spot he nabbed for me on the TDH team. Fords of Bruinen is still probably one of my favourite maps.

MtL is probably my other favourite, along with NJM. I always enjoy looking through their work in the SEE threads.

That's one of my favourites too

It's sad I'm the only one who recognises Fredius' skill I'd say he's become one of the best mappers around.

Due to it being publicly released, I see no harm in showing this "tech demo" of Corinth in progress.

if anyone has any issues with this being public It will be promptly removed.

The original movie map (his name escapes me) and of course Fudge's remake.

Legends, from Crusard...omg.

And of course Dre@mer.

Eliec also had some really fun fortress maps.

Fun fact yams, I'm pretty sure I actually made the first soccer map around.  Notorious's is much better though.

I'm just going to say it. =D Glaeken is the best mapper. =D

Glaeken is my favorite mapper across the board, for sure. He didn't do a lot of maps, but the one he did (for TPW) was glorious. The landscaping and texturing are unlike anything I've seen on here.

Then there's m@tt, _Haldir_ (EREBOR!), and MtL.

I apologize for the necro.

Friends, I'm truly humbled by the accolades, especially given the immense talent that frequents this site.  Thank you!

I'm quite proud to be listed among those that have been my inspiration, motivation, and virtual-mentors, for quite a few years now.  I was but a lurker in the HighElvenLord days and seeing the development of talented individuals that are now long-standing members has been a very rewarding experience for me.

I would probably be embarassed to list my favorite mappers because it would contain unintended omissions.  So suffice it to say that I wouldn't have attempted mapping were it not for those that came before me or are still active mappers.

NJM put it very succinctly in that ideas, methods, and inspirations, for me too, have come from the members of this board.
