"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Hey Eneoji :-)

Nice to have someone to share my wisdoms again :-)

Unfortunatelly I wont be able to play very often as I got less time since I start in my new job.
I should be online at Friday afternoon (im GMT+1) so we can meet then. If you have GameRanger account share your ID here so I can add you. I would tell you ine but im not on PC now.

However I wont be able to play very much with you, because I barely manage to play any games now but it doesnt matter I cant help you ;-)

I can always review your replay (Im Replay Reviewer on Gamereplays.org) and help you from there or I can answer basically any answer you ask ;-)

I dont know your skill level know and I dont know what you experienced but I think we can start with some reading :-)

I dont know if knew them but all these Tips might come very handy and will reveal you some of the game mechanics if you can read them properly - http://www.gamerepla...s.php?show=tips
(Not all of the videos that feature these tips work but if you want I can show you some of them in game)

Also it would be nice if you read basic Army Guides for every army so you can understand where lays every army key strenghts and weakness and how can you use them. Also you will understand what is the main points in 1v1 gaming on which I specialized as it requires the most skill and knowledge IHMO.

Rohan: http://www.gamerepla...on_guides_rohan

Gondor: http://www.gamerepla...n_guides_gondor

Isengard: http://www.gamerepla...guides_isengard

Mordor: http://www.gamerepla...n_guides_mordor

I dont want you to learn all armies at once. I think the best to start is to pick one you like the most and learn that first. When you think you handled it really well we can move to other armies ;-)

So that all from me for start and now its time for you to lay down questiuons :-)

Yeah I've been trying to play with Isengard for some time as everyone just likes to use all the other races whether Mordor for trolls and nazguls, Rohan for combos + heroes or rohirrim and gondor just plays turtle and gandy, so I guess that's the army I'd prefer to start with. I should be available at that time as I don't have class.

I'm pretty basically a noob even though I've been trying the BFME series for awhile sadly lol.

Anyways, I'll try out some 1v1 battles as I most do 2v2 Anorien and ask questions as I see them!

I think its always best to start with 1v1 because that will give you general knowledge and overall sight about the capabilities of units and heroes from which you can benefit in team games.

Ok Isengard it is :-)

The army might be harder to handle in longer games vs better players but with well done early games you can overule most of your enemies quickly and there wont be a long games :-)

For a start read the guides for this army and ask me anything that comes to your mind.

Been just trying with bots but they do all this illogical stuff Humans wont do >.<

Anyways, some general questions, should I get that zoom out mod? Also, I seem to have me fingers on the arrow keys all the time to move the map but should I? Or just move around the map with the cursor instead of arrow keys so I can use some hotkeys, like A, G, X, Q, etc.

I use the zoom out so i dont have to move with cursor so much and im still perfectly capable to see all i need. I recommend it to you. Also you will see more which is very useful in bigger battles for ex.

Definitelly move with cursor and for faster movements just click on minimap.

Also you can move around the map with Hotkeys. For example if you use link shortcut (Ctrl + Number 1-9) to some unit or building and you double click-it it will move you to that unit - very usefull for example for horses, heroes, wargs or some important other unit.

And I would recommend you to learn basic shortcuts so you dont waste time - its really important.
U - uruk pit

F - Furn

D - delete building

T - Tower

C - Cancel building

Or for units:

U - Uruks

P - Pikes

L - Laborer

etc.

There are more of course but these are basic for Isengard player and sooner you learn to use them better for you.

i missed you yesterday i think :c

Anyways, when I try to view downloaded replays it says they might not work properly when I downloaded them and when I view them, it'll work for about 3 mins then I guess like the game will freeze or something? But players will still be gathering resources but nothing else will happen. I just stayed there watching until they got to 10k resources with no units out and realized something was wrong.

Guess Im able to answer that:

You need to be aware of the patch that was used in the replay. Many older replays are based on the 1.03 patch rather than the 1.05 patch. Newer replays (last 2-3 years) are often with 1.04 and some are with 1.05. Your game has to match the patch used in the replay to display them properly.

Check out our tournament replay packs, they are properly named (in the tournament section, and there are some commented youtube videos as well.)

With some searching you should find out how to switch your own game version back to 1.04/1.03 to watch older replays. It is not hard, you just have to move a few files around.
