The lambda only has its guns, and is implied to be more of an executive transport for officers. I'd rather take the Sentinel in that case. Sentinels are slightly less well armed than TRNs in terms of raw firepower, but given that 2 of her guns are heavy repeating blasters, they would be more effective against infantry than lasers. They can also carry nearly twice as many passengers in their standard configuration in addition to heavy gear like e-webs and bikes, or up to 75 troops.
A good comparison here would be ATAT and Juggernaut.

Another FYI: The Tartan has updated stats on Wook. 250 meters, 20 laser cannons. 70 crew. 4.2 million credits.

At least it's a lot better than before.

(Classes are really pathetic this term.)

It has waaay too much overlap with existing craft in PR to have much use in the mod. We already have plenty of appropriate anti-fighter corvettes/frigates for the Empire. Plus it was basically meant to be the Carrack-class anyway...

I still wonder how the hell did they get THAT from a Carrack class.....

Personally I always found the ship to be quite silly, like they wanted to add a lancer while still sticking it to EU fans.

Well to be fair the Lancer-class arrived later than when EaW was set, so in some ways it's more canonical to use their own design; however, a Carrack-class would probably have been better, since their disregard for actual ship weaponry could just mean stripping the turbolasers off.

That said, I'm against it.

wookie has a few, but they look like they were taken from a sourcebook's concept art section (black and white sketches.)

They also seem pretty inconsistant. They don't seem feasible for a traditional battle but could be interesting for ground battle support. Special massive version of bombing run/bombardment?

Here's another probable no, bu I'll trying to prompt conversation. Gladiator-class Star Destroyer?

Is it possible to implement more types of air support (besides bombing run and orbital strike) to land battle?

In theory you can have any unit perform a bombing run, because the bombing run unit is set as a separate land unit linked to the space unit. However, they will always perform the same kind of run I believe.

I was asking because I'm not very satisfied with PRs guided torpedo runs, they just tend to fire at unworthy enemy units instead of the real target, hence not very useful. It's not a bad idea, but I miss the actual bombing runs (although I hated that there was no friendly fire). It would be cool if there would be more air support options like in C&C generals. And friendly fire to orb.str. and bombing run.

Perhaps having each run be more than 3 fighters or multiple waves of fighters in the same run.

Or just make snubcraft capable of being used on land battles.

We have the cloud car and airspeeder and LAATs, so it doesn't seem a strech to be able to use snubcraft to assist ground offenses.

Land battle maps in EAW are really not suited for controllable air units. They're just too small, and PRs AA weapons are a bit weak. If I could build LAATs in PR, I'd only use them with infantry, if there would be floating/flying fighters/bombers with laser guns and launchers, who would use tanks? Only a narrow cradle of rts games implemented air units correctly, sadly EAW is no amongst them. I'd rather see more directly uncontrollable air support systems (fighter missile strafing run against armored units, bombing runs against large clusters of enemies/buildings, LAAT/strormtr. transport combat drop/gunship strike etc), and focus gameplay on actual land battle, with more emphasis on mobilized infantry units.

That's pretty much how we envision land combat in PR, megabalta. Starfighters taking part in land battles would be nice, but it's impractical at the current scale. You really need maps like Supreme Commander to pull that off.
