Moved to general discussion, simply because there's no relevance to the actual topic. It's pretty much a redundant topic now.

Yea, it actually makes sense here.

And Pety, Revora was built on the broken spinal cords of argument and debate.  There will be war.  I demand it.  For example, I think Green Day and most others of the 90's and 2000's 'rock' genera are boring and targeted at moody teenagers, so I personally don't like the category.  I don't even like a majority of the classic rock.  However, there are some classics that work for me like Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall, even though I think the message is dumb.  Quite literally.  But there are some nice lyrical examples of classic stuff that I find boring, but have great modern interpretations.  An example is Led Zeppelin's Immigrant, which I found to be dull because I'm cruel and a cynic, but the remake for the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is actually really fantastic:

What does any of this have to do with dubstep?  Absolutely nothing.  But it's the current discussion, regardless.  I guess I can go back to the original point and present some dubstep that I quite enjoy.  Here's one of my favorites:

It's actually a genera called 'Chillstep', but it's still related to the dubstep movement, just a bit more patient.

Be7AMOD You are annoying dude...go somewhere else.

He's been 100% on topic and has only been stating his opinions.  Like you.  Hush and shush., Green Boy,

Dubstep is the most awful thing to happen to music since autotune.

That's debatable, after all ... Nicki Minaj. Yes, I went there.

Holy Sh** something i agree with. dubcrap is generic. It has no place in the world of music. Remix and what have you are artists who have no imagination to create works of their own.

Not really a furry. I like the show, or rather what I've seen of it (a few episodes).

Back to this music debate, however, I completely disagree with any generalizing of an entire genre. I'm not dubstep's greatest fan, and as I take it, neither are a few of you, but I think your sweeping remarks are over the top. You may not like it, but the purpose of music is to be enjoyed, in its most basic principle. Music is entertainment, much like that of films, and everyone has a different taste. I like black metal, like Gnaw Their Tongues and Behemoth, however it, like dubstep is to many of you, an acquired taste that many people would call rubbish. It doesn't matter if a band or composer has any skill in designing complex melodies and hour-long scores with twenty instruments, or if it's simply a simple short song played by one person on a single instrument. Complexity, whilst appreciated by many, does not qualify for good music. Good music is something which you enjoy, regardless of musical analysis, and when it fulfils that purpose, its one and only purpose, it is good music.

By that alone I can judge what is good music for me. I like Nightwish's complex and long symphonic metal songs, such as The Poet and the Pendulum, but I also like La Roux's dance song, Bulletproof, which is far simpler in structure. yet I enjoy listening to it. Some of you may disagree, however in that it is appealing to someone other than its creator, it has fulfilled its purpose.

Hmm... has Nightwish done anything in awhile?  Haven't heard anything from them since Amaranth.

And some of you people are awful at having opinions.  As in, you don't really have any opinions and just disregard what you don't like.  That's not a valid opinion or a debate, meaning you really didn't add anything to this conversation.  You know who you are.

Dude, they did everything. They released Imaginaerum and a companion "remixed" album, Imaginaerum: The Score. Then they released Imaginaerum, the film. Then they fired their lead singer. It was quite odd.

Oh, I knew all of that.  I thought the new lady did a few tracks like Amaranth and I Wish I Had Your Angel, then the band just stopped making stuff it seemed.  Then again, I haven't checked in ages.

Oh.  Feel free to post any recent stuff that's actually decent. Even though, again, it isn't dubstep. I might look back into Nightwish here soon to see what they've been doing myself.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Dubstep music done right is okay. (See: Muse, as they recorded their bit of dubstep with real instruments)
