Imperial guard refuse to build certain units.

Hi there :). I'm not sure if anyone still reads this forum but i am having a problem where the imperial guard don't make chimeras or leman russ tanks. i have tested and played over and over again on many maps and settings...still nothing, so i looked through the ai on consix mod studio and saw that there didn't seem to be a function to create either one of these units, ill post it here:

It seams to create the addons, but never the actual units.
And thats just the all round tactic, i can't find the unit creation in any of the tactics, any help would be much appreciated :)

Are you talking about vanilla (non modded game) or about particular mod?

Oh sorry this is for the skirmish AI 3.20 Soulstorm version, i mistakingly thought these where the forums for it, now isee they are just a general forum.

ok. what about Advanced skirmish AI 3.20 for SS. I'm not the expert, but at least I made an analog AI settings for Black Templars expantion race. The BO you described in 1st post is the mandatory program for AI logic. All other units are making by AI dynamically, based on unit's strength and it's weapon strength ( from data of file Data\ai\races\guard_race\info\guardunitstats.ai )

I see so it makes them based on how strong the units are? Well leman russes are defiantly stronger than hellhounds but i never see the ai make any?

well, I do not deny facts discovered by you in real game test... there are also other circumstances which affects on AI selection: more powerfull unit (baneblade) is preferable and more cheaper units are more "probable"

The Adv. Skirmish AI mod 3.20 for SS builds all those things for the vanilla IG wth no issue otherwise we would have reports of this back in 2008 when we released it after SS came out in Mar'08.

 

Generally, its in the unitstats of the faction that gives "weighted-preference" to units based on the rating value AND that first effectiveness = line. Higher the values for the unit in question for both those then better likely AI will build those UNLESS you force-build X unit in the BOs. Chimeras are NOT in the hard-forced BO and the Leman Russ Addon happens in Tier4 just when the Baneblade is ready so its likely AI won't build the Chimera as its weak compared to a Hellhound and the Leman Russes happen so late the Baneblade takes up most of the Support Cap. Still.. if the AI has extra cash kicking around it could build both those but we found the IG really didn't add much when Chimeras are around. Lemans, yep they are better but when compared to a Baneblade.. nope!
