Hi ,

I am  low experienced in modelling but average coder and thanks in advance for any reply/help provided

I want to rename/edit  a model’s  name   to  a new name using RENX

for example  mugorgag.w3d  to   mugorbag2.w3d

I have Renx, importer plugin installed

Here is what I have done so far

1.  I created a folder in desktop with  mugorgag.w3d   and  muorcwarr_skl.w3d inside

2. I imported the model from the folder  in Renx

3. I exported the model with a new name choosing the following parameters

-Hierarchical model

-Settings : smooth vertex normals across meshes

-Export it using existing skeleton ( I choose muorcwarr_skl.w3d from the folder)

4. I placed the new model in art/w3d folder in game and created a new asset

5. coding inside the object.ini is correct

When I run the game the orc model for gorbag has no animations and moves like a frozen statue. I figure the problem to be  the skeleton is not exported with the object.

Could anyone write me what are the exact commands on Renx are, so as to rename/edit/export the object correctly

Did you re-bind the skeleton to the model before you exported it?

Alternatively, get 3ds max 7 or 8 (you know, under the counter) and use NDC's new w3d importer, which has an option to keep the binding: http://www.the3rdage...tem-786?addview
