I installed renx, gmax, and i have the w3d importer. i extracted the w3d.ini file and i can access them through the importer.

i want to add a forged blades glow to the female elf CAH. i found this tutorial http://www.the3rdage...?apage=394#page but i have no idea which names of models contain what kind of stuff lol. is there an easy way of going about this?

BFME models follow a certain naming convention.

Let's say you want to find the Gondor Archer model. It's a Gondor unit, so look for the 'gu' prefix. You'll find a bunch of files named guarcher with different suffixes such as _idla, _skl, _skn, etc. The plain models always bear the _skn suffix. Model skeletons always use _skl, and model animations use _idla, _idlb, depending on the animation. _idla and _idlb would be idle animations.

The BFME2 CaH models use the 'ch' prefix.

Also, I suggest you... hum ...find... a copy of a 3dsmax 8 and use NDC's w3d importer, which allows you to preserve an imported model's binding.

Since this is a graphics-related question, I'm moving it to the appropriate subforum.
