After finishing the modeling of The Great Goblin, I got hungry for more... so I couldn't help myself (modeling in ZBrush is crazy cool)  :smile2ap: I had to make a decent model of Azog. He's got such a prominent role in the movies so I want SEE to portray him in the best way I can. This is a WiP, but progress is way faster this time, as I've learned more of ZBrush's tools and how to quickly sculpt what I want. As before, I have only used Weta-screens as reference. There's a good chance I will finish this model, polypaint it, retopologize and UV map it this weekend  :thumbsuphappy:

Not bad... could do with more minor scarring, and skin texture, but as you said, it's WIP.

 

I can SEE you're getting faster at this. ... I hate that joke.

Btw, it's not scars, it's most likely meant to be self inflicted scarification due to the symmetrical placement and size ;)

This is where it's going... but I ran into one problem. ZBrush is not that good for non organic things such as his prostetic arm. Not sure how I'm gonna solve that atm... But the rest is almost done and ready for painting/texturizing:

Use the clay tools on high settings, and the pinch tool on low setting.

This is only for the high poly version. For the low poly, I will probably close it, even though open mouth looks more suited for combat... Btw, I found a good way to make the prostetic arm using ZSpheres as base. But I lost many hours on that problem. Anyway, upper body is as good as finished, apart from the flaky thorns on the right arm. And in case someone wonders about the level of detail... that's just to ease up poly painting. All the minor details in his clothes will be in the texture only, for the in game version.

Sorry, forgot to say this earlier. The facial reconstructions are absolutely magnificent, and accurate beyond anything I've ever seen.

High res model finished, with polypainting (and yes, I forgot the metal ring on the back... I'll fix that)

Will do retopology next, then UV mapping... phew. Hope you like it, and also, I hope someone can rig him for me/us  :whatoa:
