Who else is getting really fancy over the new Binding of Isaac?  New items, enemies, modes, characters... everything.  There's new everything.  And it's not on a crappy flash engine anymore.

Here's the development page.  So many amazing things on it.  Just look at all the new item synergy and nonsense...

Sooo... I can't wait.  I cannot wait for this at all.  It has been announced for November 4th, and it's a painfully long amount of time.  It looks SO flippin good.  My one problem with the game is the pixel art style, even though it looks smooth for pixel art... it's a really over-stated art style.  Well, you know what?

Vanilla Setting:

Smooth Filter:

They fixed it!  Holy crapus.  This game just takes every point of negative feedback and adjusts itself.  Not only is this game going to have a non-pixel filter, it will have around 50 MORE filters as well, to make it play/look/sound different. That's amazing.  Not only that, here are some other changes that just makes me capitulate with magic and wonder:

-4 billion seeded runs

-Over 450 items

-Controller support (sweeeet)

-2 player co-op (local only, for now)

   -Over 100 co-op characters

-10 playable characters

-Over 100 enemy types

-OVER 50 BOSSES

Yea... this is my most anticipated game.  Ever.  It even surpasses my level of enthusiasm for Mass Effect 3 and Halo Reach.  This is the game of games.  And if you own the current Binding of Isaac game, you get 33% off if you preorder!  And if you preorder, you get the soundtrack for free!!!!!!  And it's an awesome soundtrack!

So explain to me just what this game is, exactly. I'm too lazy to look it up.

It's like an old fashion dungeon crawler using elements from the original Legend of Zelda and Rouge.  You explore these randomly generated dungeons, gathering randomly generated items and building your randomly generated character to fight off randomly generated enemies and randomly generated obstacles.  There are always changing circumstances and risks that make the game different every time.  The 2 billion seeded runs means you need to play the game over 2 billion times to experience every possible scenario.  The game is incredibly fun because of this.  You never know what obstacles will get in your way, and the game is about overcoming them by using intellectual responses and pure luck.  Every time you make a new character, they have a randomly generated luck value that changes many aspects as well, such as how well you win at slot machines, or what kind of items or enemies you encounter.

And the style/story is quite wondrous as well.  It's has many dark visceral scenes with sinister religious themes that are reflected in the items, enemies, and ascetics.  Like the whole story is about you, Isaac, who is a baby living in a really religious household.  Your mother, who just watches religious programs all day, gets a message from God.  God asks her to show her faith by killing her own baby: Isaac.  While she tries to do this, you (Isaac) retreats to the basement and finds many horrors below.  The story continues as not only do you have to kill your mother, but crawl insider her womb and kill a fetus of yourself.  Then you go and kill Satan, so it has some good values.
