The new model for SEE's Gundabad Wargs is taking shape...  :thumbsupcool:

And yes yes I know... I like teeth, and teeth is causing trouble when topologizing for low res, but I'll work around it somehow. They must have open mouths for all the anims to work properly (and to look cool, hehe)

Maybe you should try using alpha's. For me it works like a charm.

Ok... but how? I seomtimes use alpha brushes to create certain texture for instance. Not sure how that fits with teeth? My plan was to do what I did with the Moria Orc head, where I merged the teeth into a single mass for low poly, using the texture to create the illusion of separate teeth. Are we talking about some sort of transparency here? If so, I don't know how to do that (yet) ;p

And if anoyone wonders why I skipped the extra fur meshes, it's because I find the hyena like Rhovannion Wargs of Isengard to have a lot mor fur or even mane if you like, and I want these more lean looking wolf style wargs of Gundabad to differ according to the movie look, where they obviously have no manes or thick fur coats. The fur will be in the textures only. I'll post more screens when it's painted =)

Yeah, I think Vala meant transparency.

And that's one awesome looking Warg :)

Thanks, ready to start painting it tomorrow or so =) Gonna make one white for Azog, the rest brown and gray.

Not sure how transparency works in a model and how it can be utilized all the way into game, but we'll see...

There we go... Azog's matriarch warg, all modeled and painted, ready for retopology into low res! I'm really happy about this one. Hope you like it too. WIll use the same model for all gundabad wargs off course, and reskin to brown and gray =) When rigging this model, I will make sure that the warg is in proportion to the rider, which means quite big, and not as small as in EA's vanilla crap.

Looks really awesome, but I thought you'd want to know, that Azog's Warg has black "scars" on his back like Azog has.

I saw some scars on the weta marquette model, but they were quite hard to map exactly. There are very few screens of this type of warg overall :-/

Consider that the scars are similar to Azog's scars. I wonder about the history between the two.

Well, not sure if this is lore-true, but the way PJ had Azog's scars distributed shows that it's deliberate self inflicted scarification, and not battle scars. I assume the same goes for his warg.

Yeah, as for Azog, the fact that his scars were self-inflicted was confirmed in the AUJ appendices.

But how would a Warg scar itself? :p

Thanks =) This is a high res model, but I will retopologize it pretty soon, and with random textures we're gonna have some really cool looking Gundabad Warg hordes in SEE I hope

Topology is coming along... The normal EA Warg is about 1000 polies. This SEE Gundabad Warg will be about 2000 polies.
