You've modelled an alien penis?

If I had a boss, I don't think he'd be such a pervert as to quickly recognize this as depicting genitalia.

Shai-Hulud, the mighty sand-worm of arrakis?

I've never actually ventured into Dune lore, but I see what you mean.

And.... Phil, it's not a penis. Though admittedly it's quite phallic, it was actually inspired by the vagina and urethra of the opposite sex. Inspired by the aesthetics of genitalia and animalistic irreverence, this was an embracing of the abhorrent parts of nature. It was purely a creation to illustrate what I consider hesitantly beautiful, with the acknowledgement of its perverted nature.

It's perverted to think a vagina is beautiful? Meh.

Perversion here not referring to genitalia, but towards their perversion in art. As in, they have been perverted by their use as a device to create an unsettling effect.

When were vaginas perverted by their misuse to create an unsettling effect?

By using them as an inspiration in creating something deliberately intended to appear revolting.

Yes I got that, but when did anyone actually do this?

I've done a lot of art history courses and I have never heard of artists using the female anatomy as a symbol for grossness.

Read your posts; the way you put things made it sound like your piece was a response to that.

Hmm... honestly I've rather become lost in my part of the conversation. My train of thought is less than coherant.
