Do you plan on implementing it?

That would be quite cool. If we're compatible, we should consider it.

Thanks for your answer and consideration!

Hey guys,
thanks for your interest in Sketchfab! This sounds right up our alley, we love gaming and communities
We're already integrated in a large number of forums like Unity3D, PolyCount, BlenderArtists and more. We haven't worked with the IP Board software before however, so we may have to work together a bit to get everything up and running. Is there anyone on your team who could help out? Feel free to email me directly at bart (at) sketchfab (dot) com.
Cheers guys,
Bart

Like this?
Maison d'artiste by Klaas Nienhuis on Sketchfab
I've simply added a custom BBCode that turns
[sketchfab]dGUrytaktlDeNudCEGKk31oTJY[/sketchfab]
into:
<iframe width="640" height="480" frameborder="0" allowFullScreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen src="https://sketchfab.com/models/dGUrytaktlDeNudCEGKk31oTJY/embed"></iframe>
So you can now just use Embed -> Show options -> bbcode on sketchfab.com and paste it here.
Awesome concept and technology, by the way

Err yeah, exactly! :-)
Is there any way to make that easier to discover, like adding a button to the editor? Or is this the way all your embed work?
Cheers!

It might be possible to add a button to the editor via IPB hook, but I don't really know how to do that. The option will show up in the "Special BBCode" menu (third button from the left) by default. That's also the default location for many of the built-in tags.

Yea, I would like to see some people take advantage of this, so hopefully those who do model can figure this out. I sort of want to model something just to use this.

Nice. I'll have to try this out.

I'm actually going to do a few tests and figure this out. So don't mind if you see some nonsense here.

So how do we upload 3D models and get a code from them to sketchfab with? Or is there a way to detect the files from desktops?

The easiest method seems to be using an exporter that is plugged directly into a supported 3D app ( https://sketchfab.com/exporters ).
I personally was not able to use an exporter so I followed this ( https://sketchfab.com/faq/upload ) using the Zip method with the textures (unfortunately) being jpegs.
Once you have sorted out your upload and adjusted your model to be viewed, you will see the familiar 'Embed' button, that will provide you with various embed options.

You do not have to, it will just make your life easier.
For example I have not downloaded anything and I managed to get a test model uploaded then shared out on various sites, using the ZIP upload method. All I did was register a profile and follow the instructions on one of the links I posted.
