I must admit that I may not be the most informed person about it, since I don't have a new GPU (mine is GeForce GTX 560Ti). So, I did consult nVidia's site and Wikipedia. NVidia's site mentioned as 'new feature' from the 700 series FXAA and TXAA. But as you said, FXAA is not really exclusive to 700s. I've just gone into my nVidia Control Panel and I've noticed that I could enable it on my GPU as well. Wikipedia's and nVidia's site were also posting cofusing information about OpenGL and DirectX support on GPUs (as some of the non-700s series would not support OpenGL 4.4, but this is not what happens with the latest drivers, so I did not post that). However, I could not verify Wikipedia's information on DirectX 12, where they said that these cards do not have complete support for Direct3D 12 and it wouldn't have. To be honest, I don't know. My knowledge of Direct 3D 12 is weak. But if the new Direct3D relies on something new in terms of hardware, it could be true. I.e.: if the CPU and GPU has access to both CPU and GPU RAMs in Direct3D 12, it is possible that the current video cards won't support that, since their architecture is not compatible with that kind of setup. AMD is already working on something like this.

I wouldn't bother with a 770 or 780 really since they're not worth the money at this moment. 760 is still worth it due to it being "budget muscle" the only enthusiast grade cards I can recommend are the R9 290, R9 290x, and 780 ti.

Actually, a GTX770 would be worth the money if you play games above 1200p. Buddy of mine got a 770 and a 1440p moinitor and loves it. His perfect setup really.

I was more referring to the fact that the 770 and 780 use the same architecture as the previous generation. Which is fine, but them having been out this long and stull full retail price, it's better to wait until the next release and pick one up discounted, or use the same funds for the next generation cards.

Fair enough, but a 770 isn't a bad buy. A 780 would be but a 770 would be a good buy at this time. Of course waiting would be a better choice, but there's no shame in getting something now if you're not worried about ZOMGTEHGRAPHICS.
