It's currently not working for almost everyone! Lots of people in the lobbies just going a little crazy. There's lots of talk about ports, running as admin, firewalls, server stability, etc, but ultimately it's not working for 99% of players. I'm sure the developers are aware of this ZH problem as I've been following all the news & forums as I really want to play again.
I know this is a good cause and I love the work put in.....
but instead of everyone trying every day repeatedly, to play and getting angry, could we get some feedback on when it will "actually" be stable and working for the everyone?

Working for everyone? No, of course we can't give any ETAs on that. Chances are there will always be some people who just cannot figure out the process, either due to lack of reading comprehension, interest, or because of some weird game version or community patch/crack.
We are working on increasing stability and ease of use.

lol, I don't mean absolutely everyone obviously, but I mean the vast majority of people. I'm talking about 98% of players.
I have a solid understanding of what you guys have asked of us, everything is normal, genuine real version of ZH, relevant updates, (all working for years before gamespy shutdown) and I am unable to connect to any players in the lobbies, pretty much along with most other people! Evident by the same topics on the forum. It is not just me or just a few people. Nobody can yet play ZH.... Have you tried to play even? Perhaps those with the technical knowhow to unblock ports and edit option.ini files yes, but that represents about 1% of people.
I don't mean to sound negative, or subjective, I appreciate your work, very much. I am just letting you know that it's not currently working for nearly everyone and was wondering when it will... for "most" (not everyone) be working?
I will donate quite happily once I can play again, along with my brothers and friends (whom also can't connect). I promise I will donate, money is not an issue, I can even donate better servers if you wish, I just want to have fun

Js skills ,i wanted to say exact the same thing as you but never found the right words.
At first week some Poeple was on the Servers tried desperatly Connect Games and setting router up.In second Week everyone is just pissed and left in the Direction gameranger ,and severs are empty 24/7 . There is no way it can just be a Problem with the Ports i was in Dmz mode and other Player too = no connection . The people running the server deserves big respect for their work and effort , but it has to be said that in Gameranger you play 100 games 90 Connect ,and online server maybe you play 100 games and 10 connect. They really have to do something about that otherwise the time they invest programming all this is just wasted. Nobody know exact the Ports that has to be open , nobody know how to do it , they is just zero inforamtion about that. Generals Zero hour has a message board right after you log in. Insed of writing there some usefull inforamtion how to configure reouter there just stand at the moment :Hello everyone welcome to your new online multiplayer server Pls keep in mind that the sercive .... bla bla bla USE THIS MESSAGE BOARD TO GIVE PLAYER SOME USEFULL INFORMATION LIKE WHAT PORTS THEY HAVE TO OPEN.

You are absoult right in the point that you find everything you need in forums ! But man serious we in Austria got here motorways ,and this Motorways has one ramp to drive on it and next to that a ramp to leave the Motorway , and every year we got here 400 times that people choose the wrong ramp and drive with 100 mph on the motoway in the wrong direction XD . So THey put there Big Neon Yellow shields so you dont drive on the wrong ramp.

what i want to say is use the message board to direct people to the forum so they all can choose the steps necceary to set up game . They need every helping hand they can get .They have to be lead to the right spot. Anddddddddddd we're back online, working 100% perfectly. Thank you thank you. Respect to GenTools too. Everyone should download it for anti-cheat, widescreen mode and a timer as well.
Just played 3 games of 3v3 and connected first time to everyone. Even connects quicker than before. Clearly the issues have now been resolved.
Loads of players in the lobbies too. At least 20+ which excludes everyone actually playing the game.
Just stats to follow, which seems like it's part working which is cool. Thanks guys.
