I HAVE READ THE HOW-TO THREAD

I am playing through Origin. When i try to run the game it says Unable To Launch Zero Hour. This is right after i click my game icon  and it opens C&C Online, and try to click Zero Hour. What do i need to do?

Game: Zero Hour
Zero Hour Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\
ERROR: CreateProcess() failed to start C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\generals.exe. Error: The requested operation requires elevation.

ERROR: Unable to launch Zero Hour

I am on Windows 7

Run the launcher as administrator.

Gain access to CNC Online servers by using GenTool for Generals and Zero Hour.

http://www.gentool.net/

"GenTool provides enhanced game controls and optimizations to maximize your online gaming experience. Additionally it comes with three anti cheat solutions for Generals and Zero Hour. The program is easy to install and is fully functional with C&C Generals 1.8, C&C Generals Zero Hour 1.04, Generals Deluxe Edition, The First Decade and The Ultimate Collection."

check in your registry that the game installpath or install Dir is the same as where the generals.exe is.

with origin and window 7 i think it should be here: local machine - software - wow6432Node - EA Games

your install dir in your registry maybe:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\

instead of

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\

if so then you could change it in registy or copy the files back to the 1st \Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\ folder

This error isn't related to the registry. Xezon is right: run as administrator.

very unlikely to be an issue with compatibility or admin rights but it wont do no harm to try.

Requires elevation meaning admin rights.

Or blocking antivirus software

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

I suggest that you guys launch from GenTool instead of the launcher. Just install Gentool and then launch your game normally (i.e. from the desk top icon etc). You shouldn't get problems like that if you do it that way. Don't forget to unhook your game in the launcher first.

Try again. The server may have been restarting or due for a restart.
