Following a series of discussions in our famed shoutbox, I've decided to create Revora's very own Star Trek topic. All series, all movies, all games, news from CBS, anything Trek.

Shush.

So, we were last talking about DS9, on how the flame on Jadzia Dax is mostly justified and how Sisko is underrated.

Hint: Time travel episodes are copies of each other across all series. Except JJTrek. That's where it's used in a blasphemous way, but the plot is nevertheless awesome.

I dunno... that's all I really had to say at the moment.  Uhh... the episode with Quark's mom was fantastic.  I'll say that, I suppose.

Yeah. I love how DS9 made the Ferengi interesting and even lovable. TNG didn't do them justice :D

Yea, the Ferengi are so amazing.  Quark and his brother manage to make even boring episodes charming and entertaining.  And Nog in Star Fleet is a really fun plot-line with cool character development.

Yea, like that time Odo made Quark his deputy.  I was all like, "Yay!  Unlikely friendship!"  And I'm quite happy Warf is in the show now.  Him and Quark are a nice pair as well.

And then there's one of these stoooopid episodes... yea, I just watched the one where nearly everyone gets blown up in the teleporter, and their data is saved in the holo sweet.  And apparently Chrome doesn't recognize 'teleporter' as a real word... idiot developers.  But yea, and crew members like Sisko, Warf and Miles came back as characters in Julian's retarded spy simulation.  I don't like episodes like that at all... the ones with no character progression, nor connection to any significant story.

It seems like Deep Space 9 and everyone important dies in almost every episode, but some bull crap whim of astronomically unlikely luck brings them back to life.  That's one thing that really bugs me about this show... how they ruin really great moments by killing off everyone a thousand times until it means nothing anymore.  And before I end this rant, The Defiance is an awful ship.  It gets the snot beaten out of it every time it goes anywhere.

"holo sweet", "Warf", "Defiance"... You disappoint me.

The Defiant still deals punishing blows, which you'll see in the Dominion War.

Actually that holographic episode was charprogression of Edlington if my mind serves me right. As an afterthought of the Jadzia messup, maybe the fact that I grown up watching them dubbed saved the char, as in dub actress performance saved the day.

Also, time travel, IMO JJVerse ain't that bad if one also looks into Star Trek Online's story - then it all starts to make sense (okay, except Kelvin's weaponry garmada).

Also, Defiant is a tough nut to crack up entirely and it was just another Berman motif how they ultimately cracked it - the exact same reason was why they did a nice explosion involving the Odyssey.

And bleh, yes, Odo-Quark are awesome, but still Garak with anyone is better than that.

When one watches Star Trek, one memorizes everything one can at the given moment.

It's just now, after all these years, that I find out René Auberjonois (Odo) voiced Moebius in C&C Renegade. Still trying to connect the two, I always imagine Auberjonois with his Odo-specific rusty voice :p

Yea, he's done loads of voice acting in his life.  When I was trying to find out who Odo was, I was surprised Rene played Father Francis in MASH.  But I know him most for cartoons.  He did some amazing voice work in Mighty Max.  He's almost as famous as Mark Hamill in cartoon voice acting.

Ooooo.  The episode with Major Keira and Gul Dukat on the planet, investigating the crashed prisoner ship?  That was so quality.  I never really root for relationships, but that one needs to happen.  No spoilers... I want to hang on anticipation.
