In retrospect, something tells me that having an engagement in the orbit of the galaxy's prime source of Bacta was a horrible lapse in judgement.

Especially since the engagement involved a goddamned Executor-class Star Dreadnought.

Here are a few possible outcomes.

1: Lusankya goes all scorched earth on the planet. Even by herself, she has more than enough firepower, and it's not like Isard would have had any qualms about it.

2: the ship rams the planet. This would have happened, but thankfully for all involved, someone on the bridge of the SDr had a gun and didn't want to die. This would render the planet devastated. The largest object to hit the earth in recent years was a rock that when it exploded about 30 to 50 km above the earth's surface, it released the energy equivalent of 500 kilotonnes of TNT. For comparison, the bomb used at hiroshima was about 16 kilotonnes. I think it was estimated to be about 30 meters in size. The Lusankya is a bit larger than that, and is one of the most complex ships ever to put to space. Were she to ram the planet, the impact alone would likely permanently damage the planet, possibly even rendering the planet uninhabitable, and that's before the stuff like fuel and ordnance.

3: the Lusankya is destroyed, with debris falling onto the planet, like that Ewok Apocalypse thing.

Either way, it's bad news for everyone on the surface.

all the captain would have to do is to say "come near and i will glass the planet."

the best part is that because the Lusankya carries so much firepower, even in the 8km variant, that it can focus on the Planet and leave secondary and tertiary guns to deal with the Rogues and whatever can be mustered. the only way to stop that part would be to have enough ships to act as a shield between the Lusankya and the planet, but even that would only last for so long.

the best way to deal with the Lusankya would be to lure it to Coruscant instead of Thyferra, the only allied planet with planetary defenses strong enough to deal with the ship, specifically an area where the greatest quantity of surface guns and Golan-3's as well as the lightest population, to limit collateral damage, and to have Black Asp as well as any friendly ship that can fight on station.

figure at least 3 Golan 3's, and whatever else is nearby are added to the ships already mustered by the Rogues, and the planet below has some of the strongest planetary shields in the galaxy, so bombardment isn't an issue. You could even use the Orbital Mirrors to bring down the shields

but even this method has issues. Lusankya can still try for option 2, and even with the shields up and concentrated in one spot, who's to say the ship wouldn't be able to get through. even if you have a hundred tractor beams to keep the ship immobilized, from a hundred different platforms, the Lusankya still possesses enough firepower to potentially engage and destroy these in a short period of time, and it wouldn't even need to destroy all of them, given its size.

it's shields are far stronger than a G3, so there might need to be a few mirrors running at the same time to bring down the shields. those mirrors aren't exactly durable so they might not last very long.

and if you wanted to capture it, well, now you have even more problems. the Executor carries 38 THOUSAND ground troops and all their gear, as well as an unknown number of Ship's Security personnel. you would need to take the Bridge, primary Weapons Control, Main Engine Room, and Computer Core and hold them off from what may very well end up being 50,000 trained troops, as well as the rest of the crew.that decide to resist, assuming you could even get to those areas, although truthfully, the Main Bridge would be easiest to get to.
