So I was playing generals Zero Hour yesterday with gentool installed and when I finished my game it downloaded a bunch of maps into my zero hour maps folder which I do not want...

Every time i finish a session online it keeps updating and downloading these new maps! How do you stop gentool from doing this?

That's not it.

It's just something that's involved in the 6.6 update. ReLaX's maps are obviously popular, so you can only benefit in compatibility with others that way :p

I don't see the problem if GenTool distributes popular maps; it only decreases connection and compatibility issues. Nobody's forcing you to play them.

Well I found the "d3d8.cfg" configuration file as stated but was unable to stop the updating..

I'm not bothered about having the maps but it is the fact that there are so many of them that they move the rest of the maps that I have out of reach of my unofficial maps list.. so nearly half of the maps that I can select in the game are these "ReLaX" maps. Do you see what I mean?

I need to either be able to see all the maps in my maps folder or stop gentool from downloading them,

or the worst case scenario, uninstall gentool...

That's a valid complaint, I'd say. But this is not the GenTool development forum and we are not GenTool developers (although Xezon does visit here). I suggest posting on GameReplays instead.

Is this so large a problem?

And lose all the good features it brings, including anti-cheat? That's a bit rash.

Actually, there were several requests for that from Zero Hour players, IIRC.

Yeah, and I think it's a good feature. But it still be possible to turn it off if it's unwanted, to prevent the maps from being downloaded every time.

Anyway, this is not a topic that should be discussed here. We're not GenTool developers.

I will add a functionality to abort the map install in next version.
