Sorry if I came across as a bit blunt, I had to rush to get to school.

Forget screens, imagine a camera. It has a lens, which has a sensor (square shaped, looks like a shiny card) behind it. You can either split that up many times, giving more small megapixels, or split it up fewer times, giving fewer, larger pixels. The physical pixels are larger, and so let in more light. So there's a trade off between light and the detail of the image. There's no point in having a really detailed image if there's no light in it, and vice versa.

If you don't understand it yet, ask me on facebook, I'd just find it easier to explain there.

And yes, in a screen, more pixels are better. I think that's where you're getting confused. Think of the physical pixels in the camera sensor ;) And the fact that those you asked didn't understand this shows how the "megapixel war" is taking hold of marketing.

Edit: Here's a nice explanation: http://reedhoffmann....ly-with-pixels/

Now this is an entirely different topic.  Lens grains and stuff.  You really should have been more specific there.  Luckily, I studied optics extensively a few years ago. Still not sure what 'bigger pixels' means.  It's a pixel... you can scale a pixel so it appears larger, but you can't make it bigger or smaller.  That's like making an inch bigger.  I read the Hoffmann post as well, and if that's what this argument is, then you haven't been clear at all.  Even though he's talking about grain sizes more than he is pixels as well... that's also misleading.  A camera doesn't take pictures with pixels, it takes pictures with light and diffraction.  A larger grain size will allow more light to pass through, yes.  That's why that teddy bear with 100 less pixels is brighter... it uses larger grain sizes, and as a consequence, renders less pixels in the image.  But the image is not better as a direct result of less pixels in the final product; it is a factor of light and how much the lens will allow to pass through.

So if the iPhone 6 is taking advantage of larger grain sizes and quarts lenses and stuff, then good for it. It's still a piece of junk when I want photographs taken at a modern standard.  You can defeat all these points if all you care about is "snap chat" and "instagram" nonsense.  Barf.  But these things mean nothing to me, and when I think about photography and camera optics, I don't see the value of compactivity and convenience over quality and better pricing.

I've honestly never even seen it called lens grain before, even searching that on google comes up with nothing but questions about grains of sand stuck in a lens. That's odd... However, a similar search for bigger pixels seems much more convincing. But okay, I don't claim to be an expert. Apparently the correct term is photodetectors, the number of which is equivalent to pixels, and therefore affects the resolution, once the photo has been taken.

Sorry if I wasn't too clear, and yes, I meant that the larger photodetectors let more light in, and allow lower ISOs to be used, improving picture quality when not in bright sunlight.

How so?

Looks like they've cleaned up their act a bit. However, their App Store is still a little too restrictive. Try to do anything they don't like and you don't get approved for the App Store even if it's completely legal and helpful to other users. Google's app store doesn't care as long as you're not scamming people. Neither does the Microsoft Store, but I won't defend theirs either. It's crappy too. It's good that Apple isn't as destructive as they used to be. I remember when the iPad was getting ready to be shown off and reports were flying around about Apple trying to block people from accessing pornography. This isn't the case but the fact that it even got tossed around is pretty stupid. And back before HTML5 came out and Flash was king, Apple tried their damnedest to kill it off. Oh, and collecting personal data without fucking telling you is pretty lame too. And how ridiculously easy it was to get into iCloud accounts. So basically, they suck but for new reasons these days. Evolution, baby.

Then how about you go and hack my iCloud account and post the last picture I took. I mean if its so easy then surely anyone can do it right? Collecting personal data you say? its something called the iPhone privacy settings which can easily be turned on and off and the default being its turned on thus allowing no app even apples stock apps to get information from you without your consent saying "Ok" to their prompts.

Hilarious. It's so cute that you think you can actually turn that shit off. PROTIP: Apple collects data without telling you that they're doing so. Google and Microsoft both tell you they're doing it.

Also, never had my mobile device tell me this:

It's not fake. It's just from an app that runs on iOS devices. Still hilarious how that would even come up on an iOS app at all.

what app? and chances are its because the app wasnt updated by its creator for the current gen 4" screen iPhones probably is for 3.5" thus its having compatibility issues which would probably happen on many devices.

Beowulf, that error message is worded in such a non-Apple way, I'm pretty sure that's an error with the app. And 16k stills are fine on my iPhone 4, Elric. 4K is nothing ;)

Well, well... what's this?  Another Apple Livestream event that didn't work.  Hmm.  I could make a joke, but Apple did it for me.

What meant was that it was fine for my friends and I this time, with now cutting out whatsoever.

I dunno.  To be fair, I haven't heard as much complaining about, but the problem still existed.  My friend and I both watched the same way we did the last event. and.... again.  He got nothing on his Apple devices, and I couldn't get anything on my VLC at all again.
