Hi,

We're trying to play RA3 on a LAN using the CNC Online to get round the whole lack of direct IP connect problem. However, we can get as far as choosing factions and ready to start, but the host gets a failed connection error for clients connected to the game. As it's a LAN, it shouldn't be a portforwarding issue as all ports will be open across the LAN. All clients are using trusted LAN firewall settings, so the firewall shouldn't be blocking any ports either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

PoJ

Update: We've tried setting up all the portforwarding rules on our router and allowing all LAN traffic through firewalls with no luck. We just get the 1-2 connection error message. Any suggestions welcome, we only ever play this game on a LAN.

Although you are playing with someone on the same LAN, it may be that the connections between you are being routed via the internet. I would try disabling Windows Firewall (and all other firewalls) for public (internet) connections as well as LAN connections and see if that helps.
