I want to add all custom maps to The BfME Online Edition v2.0, is there any mappack that contains almost all custom maps? Thanks!

If you mean adding them to the standard map list, please don't do that, it messes up our current patch and patching plans. We want to add more maps in the future through patching so we can have proper quality control resulting in better standard maps.

If you mean the custom maps folder, please think twice before overloading your edition with tons of maps. Experience shows us that people do not like having their custom map folders filled up with tons of maps they don't know or necessarily want. If you want to offer people packs of maps for their custom maps folder, offer them seperately so they can choose to use them or not.

There is also the matter of permissions. You can't just redistribute people's maps (certainly not if you take them from the T3A website).

Is this about adding maps to the custom maps directory and ingame menu? I'm not aware of any massive-all-maps-containing map packs and creating maps is such a long and plodding process that most authors would like to be asked first.

And then there is a large variety of custom maps, which do you mean specifically? MP maps, Coop maps, SP maps, heroe/ringwars, towerdefense...

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

-I didn't mean adding them to standard map list. I don't like these kind of stuff like changing original maps or UI or something.
-Yes i mean custom maps folder and i can give an option to the gamers "install custom maps" or not.

- Matter of permissions? This  just makes me laugh, so you are telling me that some people make maps and share them over web for free and people need to ask them "hey your map is cool , can i play it, please please?"  It is just like i am doing a BFME edition and share it over web and tell people "hey you can not download this, you can not play without asking me" Hilarious.

And you tell me this? (certainly not if you take them from the T3A website).  From now, i will consider my support to T3A and revora. I thought we all do things for keeping the bfme game series alive? I did this past 5 years without any profit. And my blog has 500k page view, so, i told people who is asking me to donate
-"hey forshire how can i donate you?"
-forshire "no thanks i dont need your money, please donate revora to keep game servers alive"  Phil knows this.

And now you are telling me that i can not use maps from web page, which I did direct people to donate?

ok.

mostly heroes/ringwars/towerdefense. I can find them on the other webpages. And they don't mind if we play that maps :D

The problem with permissions is that it isn't up to T3A. When users submit their content to our website, they maintain creative control, we don't have any clause that makes them our property (like Moddb and other such websites do), this means I can't give permission for them. We do this because we are a 'creative community' that respects the author's rights. If you want their permission (and T3A's cooperation), you will need to contact each author and ask.

You understood this exact problem back when THORONGIL wanted to do the same thing for his patch, but you don't understand it now that you want to do it for your edition? When Thor wanted to take all maps just like that and we said no, you publically called us 'good guys with integrity'. And now this?

I've been involved with this community for 10 years, modding, helping people, keeping it alive, without any profit. So what? All of us here want to keep the BFME series alive, but that doesn't mean we should abandon our core values here. We can keep it alive without stealing people's work and stuffing it into your edition.

From what I've seen, your new edition has got plenty of nice features already that were made by you and your friends, which is great. You shouldn't spoil it by adding things that just don't belong to you.

I think you will be able to find many of those funmaps in the internet from authors who are specifically fine with the idea of having their maps included in the custom maps directory.

I think adding them to the custom map list with an option for yes or no would be great.

As for the permissions: Yes, you can't just include them unless the creators are okay with it. It's not a question of allowing to people play it or not, it's a matter of allowing people include it in their work. As Mathijs said, we cannot change that because T3A does not own the maps people upload there.

Imagine someone made a "BFME ultimate version" with BFME, BFME2 and RotWK all-in-one. Then he decides to simply include your Online Edition for the BFME1 part of his version. That's not okay, even though you let people download and use your Online Edition for free. Same as I'm very happy if people download the T3A:Online launcher but I'm not happy if someone just bundles it in their project without asking.

Some of their (slightly reworked) maps are already included in 1.06 ;)

Alright then.

If you have played it already then it is on your harddrive. Go to %appdata% -> roaming -> bfme -> maps

You can open and edit them with Worldbuilder.
