I have read the how-to thread.

I am using the steam version, windows 7. I sometimes get the following error:

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----

Game: Red Alert 3

Red Alert 3 Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3\

Started game with: "RA3.exe "

Caught CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT from Red Alert 3. Detaching...

ERROR: game.dat process not found.

Running in windows xp compatibility mode does nothing. When I try to reinstall and run it again, I get this error message:

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----

Game: Red Alert 3

Red Alert 3 Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3\

Started game with: "RA3.exe "

Caught CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT from Red Alert 3. Detaching...

Found game.dat process. PID 5472

CAREFULLY read the following threads:

(How to report issues & Common Issues & Solutions)

You read the first thread, but not the second. The way to play using Steam is described in there.

I am unable to hook using that method, I get the 'CA error', as you can see in the second error log. The fix for the CA error does not work at all. So basically, the methods described in the page you linked do not work.

For the record, I have been trying for 2 hours to get it to work using methods described in that thread. None of them help anything, and now the game itself won't launch anymore either, not even from within steam or the main .exe

Running everything as admin might help.

Nope, doesn't change a thing. What's worse, I can't even open the game anymore period. I uninstalled the cnc online launcher, removed red alert 3, redownloaded and installed red alert 3, and it's still broken. The game won't even launch anymore, it worked fine before I tried to use cnc online. Don't ask me how, but this program of yours broke the game so bad I can't get it to work anymore whatsoever.

So, any ideas anyone? I'd appreciate any help I could get.

This is exactly what happened to me. I hope there's a fix.

Did you unhook the games before uninstalling the launcher? If not, install again, unhook, uninstall.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

I didn't get a complete blockade from running the game, I receive 2 simultaneous errors where the last one is the ca public key. But the log is the same.

If i unhook ra3, i can run it without problems.

I tried unhooking Red Alert from the launcher, then uninstalling the launcher, but still nothing for Red Alert.

I'm going to try reinstalling Red Alert and seeing if that works.

I reinstalled Red Alert 3 but not the launcher and it still won't work at all.

Redownloaded the whole thing, even after unhooking it and then uninstalling the launcher.

Edit: the only way I can get it to run is by going into the main folder and activating the main executable. Nothing else works. No desktop shortcuts, no Steam Client, no launcher, no hooking or unhooking.

I have no idea how this happened, but it seems other people are suffering from it too.

If you unhooked properly and don't get an error when launching the game ("Could not find blabla.exe" or similar) then it's not the problem of the C&C:Online launcher. Make sure you undo all the compatibility/run as admin settings you might have tried.

The compatibility settings were only a problem for Kane's Wrath/Generals. But you guys might want to check out my other topic, as it seems I got it to work.

Try to launch the game normally
Then minimize your game (if you can't do it because you're in full screen mode, try to press "Start" key on your keyboard, or press Ctrl+Alt+Del)
Then open task mmanager
And End process "RA3.exe"
(Your game should be still running, because you haven't ended the game main process (ra3_1.12.game))
Then open your CNC-online launcher
Click Red Alert 3 Button
After some second the game should be maximized or returned to full screen mode again
And finally you can try to log in
