ERROR: game.dat process not found.

 

Afternoon people.

Reinstalled this game a couple of weeks ago when id heard that online support was back via you guys. I got logged in the first time and was able to play a couple of games with a mate. Tried logging back in and all ive been getting at any times is a backend server issue. Regardless of when i try to do this i always get this error now. I read the help section and i know that sometimes there may be server issues so i had a friend log in and he managed to get on fine. I tried running the laucher as admin, changing compatability and also having exceptions in my avast but nothing seems to work. Im not the most technical person so if anyone can help then its be much appreciated.

Yeah tried hooking, it opens up the launcher multiple times but not the game.

I made sure the patch for both the launcher and game were up-to date.

it worked the first night, then the day after it didn't and it hasn't worked from then onwards.

Ive reinstalled both the game and the launcher a few times now but still no joy.

If it opens the launcher multiple times that implies there's something pretty wrong, like your user account is lacking certain privileges.

Can you hook again and then post the resulting error log?

Excatly the same as the one before and that was with hooking on. It opened the launcher 3 times on that occasion. sorry for the late reply

funnily enough i was in between 10.and just now. Logged out and now cant get it back working. Its a mystery.

I think the answer to that mystery is that sometime your game is being patched properly by the launcher and sometimes it is not (which will give you the backend server error) because the game is not always loaded by the time that it comes to be patched.

Can you try this: Start the game from the launcher, then, once the game is loaded, switch back to the launcher and try to start the game again (even thought the game is already loaded).

If that works, you will have to make a shortcut to the launcher and add the command line parameters you have to that, but let's just see if you can get the game to load and patch first, then we can come back to that.

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried to open the game again as stated above. I just got a "Has stopped working crash" . i tried it a few times just to make sure .

Again sorry for the late reply. I tried unhooking and it loaded the game but the second one kept saying CA patch had failed.......

 

However i may have been a little stupid.

 

I found that blocking the EA core file in the origin folder worked. Blocked all connections to that through avast and everything's been working pretty smoothly. Thanks for the support guys and sorry for wasting your time. Cheers
