Try a clean reinstall.

I have a similar problem.

When I try to join a game, I always get the message, that the players use another version.

Which version is the right one?

I have already tried to use only 1.06, Elvenstar Mod 6.0 and Elvenstar Mod 6.1. and could never connect to a game.

Thanks for answering.

I believe many people in the server are using the community patch 1.08 as well.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Ah sorry I assumed this was about bfme2. Bfme1 is only 1.06, make sure to install previous patches correctly first or it will give you a mismatch.
