Hello Revora!! This is where an epic saga of epic ness will begin. Lately, I've been drawing and sketching, and now, at long last, my idea for a mod is coming to light...

Introducing: Tacalmo's Treason of Isengard mod!!!
This mod will have a whole lot of content to offer, and the main focus: Isengard and evil in general!!
The Factions are as follows:
Good:
Men
Elves
Dwarves
Arnor

Evil:
Isengard
Mordor
Angmar
Goblins
Evil men

Just for fun:
The lost realm of Angband

As you can see, this mod will offer 3 new factions, and loads of new content. The team will need to be dedicated, and willing to go the extra mile. I personally won't be much help (coding wise) but I will be pumping out maps.

Team:
Lead:
Leader: Tacalmo
Lead producer: (Available)
Lead Coder: (Available)
Lead Mapper: Tacalmo
Lead Modeler/skinner: (Available)
Lead sound designer: (Available)
Lead Animator: (Available)
We also need at least one other "lesser" team mate of each of these!!

Beta Testers:
Men tester: (available)
Elf tester: (Available)
Dwarves: (Available)
Arnor: (Available)
Isengard: (Tacalmo)
Mordor: (open)
Goblins: (open)
Angmar: (open)
Angband: (open)
*note* beta testers will only be needed after each faction is ready.

Other:
Support manager (open)
Marketing manager (open)
Installation/ launcher developer (open)

As you can see, this mod will be a fun, and enjoyable project to work on, and I hope you will support this!!

For the first release we will focus on Angband and Isengard, then work from there.

Map and a bit of code

Could you show some stuff you made? I haven't seen anything coming from you. I also don't think people will follow your orders, when you don't know how to code in detail. You should distinguish yourself from others, show talents other than 'you should do this'.

The message is: Just show some of your stuff. ;)

The question about what is new in this mod is meant about the comparison with other mods. What is new, in comparison with SEE or Edain or RJ?

In comparison with Edain:
You will begin the battle with a bfme1 style castle. You will also have builders. Army buildings can only be built inside your castle, and resource builders can only be built outside. Settlements will exist, and resources on them will be 2 times as effective.

Stokstaartje is right.

We have seen this sort of thread many, many times before, and it turns out that this is not how to start a mod. You don't just write down a ton of ideas and go 'ok guys I can't really do this, but I like the ideas so feel free to do this for me under my leadership.'

To start a mod, you need to start modding. Make maps, learn to code, show some artwork, ingame screenshots, etc. That's how it works. There are barely any active (and free) modders and none of them will join you if this is all you've got to offer.

As to the ideas themselves; they are pretty generic. Arnor? Evil Men? Been done to death. If you want to blow some minds, just stating that there is 'a lot of new content' is not going to cut it. Think harder.

My suggestion to you: start small, make some changes you want to make, try to implement some small ideas, learn to code, and learn to do some of the required artwork. Build a portfolio, get something going, then see if people might be willing to lend a hand. I'm not saying you can't have any big ideas, but I am saying that you can't have big ideas while unable to complete the most basic ones.

You'd have better luck in showcasing your ideas in other BFME dedicated forums, the amount of BFME modders available in Revora can be counted on 1 hand, and I I believe there is no one among them who has got time and/or motivation to do such a massive scale mod like yours. Also like the others said you have to learn the modding stuff yourself, seriously if you succesfully could lead a mod by solely being a mapper, hands down, you'd be the first I presume.

Now back on your ideas, let's say if you don't want to learn modeling, skinning and such, and since you like making maps, how about starting with a map-mod? Release a mappack, or learn scripting and make a super awesome mission map. This way you would make a good reputation of yourself in the BFME communities, and the chance that people will help you in your project will also increase.

But just out of curiosity, do you like the idea for Angband?

Well a mod about the first age would be nice. There is only one that sadly got cancelled but looked fricking awesome. The mod is called the Four Ages mod and has released a beta where Angband was playable. Haven't tried it out myself though.

I dunno, what is the idea? All I can read is 'Angband'. Do I like Angband in the Silmarillion? Sure, I guess. :p
