I've been trying to and been looking for THE or a way to change the bling colors for CaH, mainly the ugly redish hood for the elf to dark brown or black.  Is this possible, if so, please share.

Thanks

also, i'd like to change the size of the uruk CaH, should be a little bigger like the other uruk leaders(ugluk, sharku...etc)  i've scaled all the  in game heroes to what i think they should be and its great, but really want to get my CaH's to the right size now (i don't play online btw, for my own amusement lol)

Hey,

First of all: I moved this thread to the right location. Please think before posting, this is not a T3A:Online issue so it doesn't belong in T3A:Online Support. I moved it to BFME Art & Graphics.

Now then. To change those colors, you would have to edit their textures. To do so, you'd have to extract them from their .BIG files. For that, you need FinalBig: http://www.the3rdage...item-52?addview

Open the right Textures.BIG file (for the CaH textures, that's Textures1.BIG) in the game's installation folder, and extract the texture files to whatever folder you want.

You'll then need to open them in an image editor (I use Photoshop). The files are .DDS, meaning you might have to get a .DDS importer for your program. Then you just edit the textures to change the colors and save them (as DDS or TGA).

After that, you'll need to get your edited textures read by the game. One way to do this is to simply add them to the Textures.BIG. This method requires you to have saved them as .DDS. Also make sure you enter the same filepath the other CaH files in there have. Another method is to create a seperate .BIG file just for those textures. Open FinalBig, put in your edited textures (again: make sure they have the same filepath as the existing CaH textures in Textures1.BIG), then save it and call it something like __CaHfixedtextures.BIG and put it in your installation folder. This way you can take it out to revert the changes.

As to the scaling thing, you already scaled up other heroes through code? I assume it's the same for the CaH heroes, but I'm not sure where that code would go for them.

Thank you very much, ill try this now.  I wasn't 100% on where to post it, new to the site...sorry bout that.

And yes i've changed the sizes of many of the units/heroes in game, i tried doing the same to the dat\ini\createaherosystemservantsofsauron.inc but ended up with a game.dat error...must have been the wrong folder...i'll keep testing and trying, thanks again man

No problem. I'm sure someone else here will know how to upscale a CaH hero.
