My focus in this thread on the renforcement was not really about difficulty, as i entirely agree with you that having the AI not renforcing its squad is freeing more ressources for it to build more different squads and tech up quicker to get an edge than the default DC AI just can't against the player.

But it was more about the feeling of epic huge AI charges i felt in DOW 1.0 when you had by example 2 Orks "simple" slugga squads running at you fully renforced with more than 25 orks, this feeling is not the same here when those 2 squads running at you will "only" feature 8 orks as the AI don't renforce their squads.

That's why i would like to increase a bit the ressource advantage by difficulty level, so i could find where to allow the AI to renforce their squad earlier without hurting their economy too much.
And so my problem is locating where to make my edits to achieve this goal, there are so many .lua .ai and .scar files really full of variables and other piece of code that even despite the very numerous comments, it is very overwhelming and difficult to find where those could be located.


I dont understand Fizanko why u dont just increase the difficulty to Hard, where the AI is playing as good as possible without cheating from extra resource. I think you be very surprised. This AI mod is notorious amongst RTS gamers. Far better than even Warcraft 3's AMAI. It can easily beat half of the online players no problem I reckon.

OK you want marines to fight against waves of sluggas... But how do you fare vs Killa Kans, Nobz, Mega Armored Nobz and Flash Gitz???!!! :good:

Dont waste your efforts Thudo.

DoW2 will be marked as a complete failure. RTS without building management? Tiny battles, WC3 style?

This will fail so miserably. It's like noob-friendly Warcraft 3 rip-off.

Its not a showstopper -- by the time you let the Necron AI get to Tier4 yer long since dead man walking. Muhahah!


No way! Not in Soulstorm 1.2.

The Necron economy is so bad now the AI is half as powerful as it was in Dark Crusade. Once you win 1 battle vs Necrons you have won the game. They simply cant come back to the game as quickly as before.

Obviously not entirely DoS's fault. The new patch just ruined them... ;)

Regrettably it is because IronLore screwed the AI in Soulstorm re: Possession of either the NightBringer or Deceiver. There was no code exported for the AI to choose from two different possessable entities. :( I asked Relic devs to fix this after Soulstorm was released but likely it will never. Oh well.. can't get everything in life.

after playing a few games with v3 of the mod it seems that Dark Eldar & Sisters of Battle seem to be lacking of sorts and don't seem to utilize ther army fully & there use of units/Abilities, thus seem weaker, unlike the Imperial Guard which seems to out do vs SoB & DE, I might be cutting to conclusions but this is how it proceeded Oasis of Sharr 2 games of 4 v 4 (Mass Race War - 4 DE vs 4 IG & 4 SoB vs 4 IG) with Hero's, Fortress, AI Donations, Hard Difficulty, Standard Resources, No Resource Sharing, and lost both matches, these could contribute to many conditions but I'd just like to mention this for any improvements perhaps give these 2 races the likeliness of furious execution of the Imperial Guard, after that i thought I'll try Tau vs IG and won so there you have it.

Well IG are a whole different deal on team games. In fact they are considered the best race for 2v2s, 3v3s because players do no get harrassed as much as in 1v1 due to distances, tendency to camp a bit during early game etc. Dark Eldar especially rely on harrassment and are downright lethal in 1v1 early game. True, their late game is one the weakest but they usually deal the killing blow in early game and slowly grind their enemy in later games.
