New Hosted Project: Crime Lords Mod

29 August 2003 - 02:43 AM

My mod and its website have just been hosted by Origin Network, and I am posting this to informing everyone of my mod. My mod is called Crime Lords and it is a small total conversion for Command and Conquer: Generals that I am currently working alone on. The official story, as of now, is this:

In a not so distant future, crime rates across the world skyrocket and organized crime becomes a way of life for many. In this crime-ridden world, the only way to survive or achieve power and money is to join crime rings. At the head of every crime ring is a secretive and elusive Crime Lord. Crime Lords dominate cities and control the illegal markets.
To counteract this sudden spike in crime, an international act was taken and the law enforcement was greatly increased and strengthened around the world. Now when these two forces come against each other, it is no longer just a battle against crime, it’s a war.

Crime Lords contain two new sides, Crime Lords and Law Enforcement, each with completely new units and weapons. Presently there are twelve new units, and four new structures for each side. Many unit purposes have been combined into a single unit, making the game a whole lot more interesting.
When Crime Lords is finished, it will be complete with new artwork, sounds, civilian units, tech buildings, maps and possibly even music. The mod is expected to be released in several months and I am planning on converting, if necessary, to make it compatible with Zero Hour.
I have been working on this mod for about a month now and at this point I have coded in nearly all the new units and structures. Now all I need to do is enter the few remaining and then go through and correct any errors, problems, or inaccuracies. After that I will start work on artwork, maps, and sounds.
Although I prefer to work alone on this mod, I would greatly appreciate any help I can receive, and any help given will be credited when the mod is released.
Further information on the mod can be found on my website at http://crime.origin-network.net

Thank You
