Don't have any third party AV, just windows defender, I'll try disabling and reinstall

Screen encouragingly flashed black for a little bit and then terminated and gave back the same syringe log :(

Hi, 

I installed Mental Omega today and can't get past the launcher.

I started (yesterday) with a fresh install of RA2, added the wsock.dll so I could play LAN, installed Yuri's Revenge, installed Mental Omega, removed wsock.dll and now when I try to launch nothing seems to happen.
