Since apparently you're open to Gamemode suggestions I give you Reclamation!:
All Reclamation battles would take place on "used" maps- That is to say the map would have buildings and tanks scattered about just waiting to be captured by engineers. Whether by lack of a starting MCV, or just a restriction on build progression, the main way a player would tech up is by capturing these abandoned structures and units.
