Go through the .INI for the China factions, it should mention the mine ability somewhere. Copypasting it into the building context menu should do the trick.

It's definitely down/troubled now, I can't seem to log into both C&C3:KW and ZH.

I don't think as a modding community we should endorse this. There are a lot of things you can learn from other's work and/or might be able to improve on.

The game isn't even our property in the first place, seems out of place to do such thing.

You can run the game directly (without the origin launcher) if you have bibber's launchers installed by making a short cut from the game executable. The target to your shortcut (for ZH) ought to look like this


 

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero 
Hour\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Generals.exe"

That will still run the origin client though. It's just that you don't have to go into Origin or use the Origin launcher.

 

The thing is, it does not even start the Origin client. The game just shows the error and fails to start up, this definitely did not happen before I did a fresh install on my PC.  

Guess I'll just have to manually start Origin and then launch the game.

Disable Origin In-Game for all TUC games before proceeding with applying any fixes to them. I don't think you can run the game separately from the Origin client if you bought it there, though.

The problem with freezing sounds like you'll need to reinstall the game fully.

I've already re-installed and messed around with compatibility settings. The bigger problem is that the game does not allow me to alt-tab out when frozen up, I have to entirely force power-off my computer and restart.
