#1116807 My personal walkthrough of the coop missions in single player mode

Posted by Flandre on 28 October 2021 - 05:00 PM

Honestly there shouldn't be a restriction for a player to able to coop "alone" with an AI. As some people just take it too seriously, since not everyone can go online and try to find someone to join in.

So the Allies have collected over $25,000 worth of resources in Fullmetal...what next?

Since Fullmetal happens before Relentless, the mission explains how the Allies have gotten the resources for a large-scale invasion.

btw, it's $250,000, not $25,000. Otherwise the mission is already won before the misplaced barrels blew up, since the starting money is $25,000.

Ah, my bad. lol

Now how about Gridlock? Maybe the Allies are going around taking old hardware for the upcoming fight?

Mission hasn't released yet so it is best not to speculate much.

I do say (maybe already said before) we need a loading screen map showing how the 3 faction's progress during the war. Surely that won't be that hard...

Maybe another similar Question:
Who leads Allies and Soviets after Dugan and Romanov are assassinated ? (As there are no doubts regarding Epsilon)

Allies are most likely lead by European Alliance high command since they didn't got a nuke nor they didn't centralized their powers to one place like Pentagon. Also its likely that Siegfried and his pals from Steinstech commands the muscles now. (Which is more likely after London fortress downfall)

Russians are still commanded probably by the remains of high command, those who werent in Moscow when Yuri decided to have some fun.  Since Krukov and Reznov are both colonels and the PC is a general in rank yet he is still commanded by someone.

Russians helped themselves somewhat by scattering their commanders and generals across their new territories so i doubt actually many generals were slain during the celebrations in Moscow. Just like Krukov, Reznov and PC were stationed in America when Yuri decided to kill Romanov.

Or the most likely theory from me is that Latin Confederation is commanding the USSR now, i dont recall them getting any serious damage from Epsilon's uprising (Aside from a... hulk sized disaster and few fails here and there) so majority of command structure should be intact while the military might be weakened. While Russians have the opposite problem, destroyed command structure but sufficient manpower and tech.

You got it wrong. The Soviet Commander is presumably commanding them by time Yuri starts to wreck havok. (Even by the 1st act 2 mission, the 2 commanders in charge had requested to :inspect: the situation and which later you take in command of nearly of all soviet forces in the map) Latin Confederation's command becomes a question after Thread of the Dread.

For the Allies, yeah it might be the European Alliance since their high command is still good (maybe). But I do wonder... What happened to this guy:

RbDETey.jpg

or perhaps he ended the similar treatment as in the original game perhaps?

They can't mind-control your units if they're already under mind control ;)

#1079728 MO 3.3 // Side 4 "The Foehn Revolt" - General Discussion

Posted by Flandre on 11 March 2018 - 03:45 PM

The Origins campaign finally let us know the story behind Foehn, especially the following:

  1. Yunru turned out to be Foehn's leader after all.
  2. VOLKNET was the player character of the Origins campaign (since Nobody Home's description mentions an "experimental artificial intelligence").
  3. Thread of Dread's briefing reveals that Foehn was initially intended to be a branch of the Chinese military using equipment separate from the Soviet standards.
  4. Obsidian Sands' briefing reveals that Rashidi made a deal with Yunru by giving her the MIDAS from Focus Shift in exchange for her protection and technology (although Rashidi, who most likely survives Obsidian Sands, has yet to appear in Origins).
  5. It is highly hinted that Yuri will succeed in activating the Mental Omega Device (or whatever it could be) to mind-control the entire world.

1- a surprise out of most things, despite some guess that she is part of the founders of the faction.

2- reminds of the Tiberium Wars again... especially Nod's 2nd campaign.

4- I still wonder about the MIDAS thing, wasn't in the Soviet perspective consider that the Chinese didn't destroy it but instead capture it and use it later? And since Rashidi whom use a Jackal Racer, well it won't be long that we'll see the guy again.

6. The location of Last Bastion in Bering was picked well beforehand, though for reasons unknown (Tainted Empire end screen).

7. It's strongly hinted that the main campaign forces of Allies will have zero participation in Foehn. Insomnia ending cinematic notes that they'll have no contact with outside world past that point due to psychic interference, and Foehn already has access to their Weather Control tech (Thread of Dread briefing). Soviets are still up in air, given that they control the rather far away Moon (Earthrise), which would probably be a bit more difficult to mind control from the Earth.

7- Perhaps due to that Yunru still working a way on how to counter Yuri's "secret weapon" which we wonder why she didn't know that the Allies and Soviets already figure a way (using a beacon or amplifier to act as a shield)

You also forgot that there are other Allied Forces too, PF in particular and I already guess that they share the Weather Control tech and which become the Tempest later on... As for the Soviets, well I do wonder about the "Wings of Coronia" now.

Anyways considering how each of the 3 sub-factions of the Foenh were created, well I do speculate that "Coronia" isn't actually some flying fortress but rater the Lunar Base itself. (cue Knightfall Protocol) which we wonder that the surviving Soviets in that part.

Okay I played Relentless on easy (first try then normal later) and I got the same experience of the lads of those crazy steamrolling attacks. I just like we can't get a breather or something as the "relentless" attacks is keeping the player too preoccupied that it is impossible to quickly building up forces and your current forces are slowly being cut down by the wave after wave of attacks. Although in my run, I had to "attack" first before they even try.

Not complaining though, but this is kinda unhealthy if the player is giving too much of a challenge if the AI is just spawning without some sort of "delay" per attack.

Yuri wanted to bring his "Ace" after he saw what the paradox engine did to his forces, and is in danger for whatever he's planning to do with Libra

also the only hints we got about foehn's origin is china with the tech they stole from PF and Yunru studying Volkov and Chitzkoi to make cyborg troops and messing with the nanofiber tech

Well they want a robot army to counter Yuri's shenanigans.

Oh btw, my friend manage to complete Idle Gossip after... 50 tries of relentless doggies. He point me about this thing.

I wanted to ask if we can put back the old Soviet Radar from the vanilla for the sake of the early mission campaign.
