Hmm i'll try the Venator. Could be that the frigates targeted the lancers then. I'll play tonight and see what happened.

Sure enough my friend was targeting the lancer. The sneaky bastard managed the tie bombers attacking my tectors while making it appear that it was killing the lancers :dry:

Ok I understand the cannon reasons but is there really that many hardpoints on the ships. if it were shooing that many lasers the lag would be huge upon building a executor.
Without a hangar though the tector is dead in space against the rebel who probably has its equivilant in fighters and frigates. Most of the time when i built it it hammers the frigates but is sitting duck for the fighters/bombers who chewed up my lancers. Its recoverable but I lose the initiative. Some of the impstars don't spawn many fighters either though. In battle I always noticed the rebel fighters fromt ship spawns are usually more then my own ship spawns.

-As for the factory idea i mean an actually buildable structure like say with KDY a icon that constructs the KDY structures.

-Skirmishes do last a long time in multiplayer and from the limited ai battles I've played
