In Topic: Invasion at Anzio (2-4)

It has come to my attention that this map has been posted somewhere else long before the Cartographer's Call results where posted which is VIOLATION OF THE RULES. This map has been marked as Void and moved straight down to 8th place.

The map posted before the CCC results where posted can be found here.

Sorry, Aro.

When we heard about the contest, we noobishly rushed in one of our maps that had already been released, before we read the rules. Anzio is about a year old.

Anzio was a light map for a quick transfer online with you and one ally against 6 brutal armies. The map was never intended to be played human against human.I wish we had read the rules to see what you all were looking for because toadnuke is good with lighting and triggers and we can make decent terrain. I know Anzio had no terrain, it was ment as a brutal steamroller. We try to stay away from making maps that are over 200kb because they seldom transfer online. Cliffs, trees, buildings, and walls add to the size of the map file and make it harder to transfer online.

If you have another contest in the future, we will be sure to read the rules first.

In Topic: RA3 Engine

Thanks for the advice, TX1138.

Well, I did find out that it all started with the 'SurRender 3D Engine', which was highly
modified and renamed the 'W3D' Engine. When EA bought Westwood, the W3D engine was updated further and renamed 'SAGE'. The 'SAGE' Engine was 60% rewritten and renamed 'RNA' specifically for Red Alert 3.

We will have to just wait and see how modable it really is.
