The only variation I know is the grey theme used for Thranduil's Officers.
I though that was dark blue?

I present to you Gondor's finest: The Rangers of Ithilien
The rangers have 10 different textures, each with a masked, hooded, and non hooded version. Of the ten, six of them wear tabards.
Below are the renders for the 10 variations as well as 3 captains whom will act as banner bearers (Much like TDH.)
Large picture (4200 x 6600)) be warned
Then we have Damrod and Mablung, two of Faramir's most loyal and trusted men.
Next is Madril, a seasoned ranger, and second in command to Faramir.
And finally their leader: Faramir, Captain of Gondor.

The Othram is darker than the rest of the city's stone. But its not as black as Orthanc's, which I'm happy with.

But in my Eyes, playability comes first, and eye candy comes next.
Or should be at the same level so your map can be the best that it can be.
Right now the best it is is mediocre. Playability is important yes, but if its only that you're looking for, then why not just play on a vanilla map?
Just follow Bashkuga's tips and it should improve.
