Red Alert 3 - Failed Connection

I have just got back into RA3 after watching numerous Sybert RA3 casts, but suddenly cannot play after receiving constant error messages saying "failed connection, 1-2 1-3 1-4 ect" when trying to play online. I've looked for solutions and have tried a VPN, turned off fire wall and other anti-virus devices, yet I still receive the same "failed connection" error. 


I've ran out of ideas on what to do.


However, I have just recently discovered that when going into Options >> Settings >> Network, my "Online IP" is wrong and I can't edit nor select my current IP- also my port number isn't entered.


Would this perhaps be the reason? Or does another reason come to mind.
