In Topic: Bug playing rohan on fortress maps with plots

20 February 2020 - 11:18 AM

This also happened in the Osgiliath campaign map. So it doesn't seem to be a Rohan only problem.

@Mestane as far as I know many parts of WotR are still work in progress. And especially the fortress maps with built plots are a fairly new addition. So it might take some time until this stuff is fixed. Still good to have it all reported.

In Topic: I shall request some help! The dummy and the installation.

Soo,

concerning point 1: You have to install 2.02 v 8.2.0. After installing simply open the 2.02 switcher. Under old 2.02 versions choose the one you need, then click apply.

2) If you are still talking about 2.02. Yes, this has to install into your "Aufstieg des Hexenkönigs" folder. If you are talking about AotR: Since this mod is working through the -mod command it really doesn't matter where the AotR files are located. Put them where you want them to be.

3)I'm not sure what happened there. how are these files named? If they are named something along the lines of unofficial patch... just stuff them back into you Aufstieg des Hexenkönigs folder. If thea are from Age of the Ring, just put them to your Age of the Ring stuff. They obviously need to go back where the came from, else the mod is not going to work.

Pro tip: You can have AotR and Edain installed at the same time. The best way to do this, is to copy your RotwK (for you Aufstieg des Hexenkönigs) folder after you install patch 2.01. Now you can install the other mod in the additional vanilla Rotwk folder. To switch between them, you might have to switch the folders name.

Hope this helped somehow.

In Topic: Nanduhirion; Gondor AI still not working

01 September 2019 - 11:59 AM

Hm, weird. I played on this map with a friend of mine yesterday. In one team there were two Gondor AI's (both Hard). I think in the two center positions on the right side of the map. And both didn't build a single building.

We were playing on 4.0.

I'm not really sure, what else to tell you here. I will have a look again at the map, when I have time later.

Edit: I have tested Gondor on all different positions of the map with a mix of every difficulty of the AI. I even tested with and without opponents. And not once did the AIs built a single building, recruit a hero, or even try to save a builder from an attacker. There is no working Gondor AI on this map. At least not in my game.

Are you sure you disabled 2.02 before trying to start Edain?

Furthermore, is the RotWk version, you got Edain installed on, on the default gamepath? (The game is on the default gamepath, if the folder has the exact same name as your original installation and is in the exact same location) For some reason Edain is really picky, if it is on the wrong path. Some other mods don't care.

I have two different ideas, what the problem might be.

1) When you last played Edain, you selected a faction, which does not appear in AotR (e.g. Angmar). You can solve this by opening Edain (do not forget to disable 2.02) and selecting any faction in the skirmish and WotR menu, which you can play in AotR.

2) I vaguely remember also having a problem with Edain custom heroes, which were not compatible with other mods. Yet, I sadly forgot where the files for the custom heroes are located. Maybe someone else can help you finding them, if 1) does not work.
