Hi,

 

i have very enjoyed the game .... but after the "cant move my units" bug was happen and i read that it is a known bug (and one more example over the bad developing of the game...) i have stoped to playing the game ..... haved hope for an update .... but then LA close ... now i am unsure .... but i think no new patch is coming and i will sell the game .... sad ... with this mod - the game is realy outstanding as StarWars RTS .....

But not the first time we see an big potential game get crashed on the wall from the developers/publishers self ....

this would be wounderfull ... this damn bug stoped me to play this game anymore ... and this is sad, as the mod team have maked an masterpice of work ....

is the death star buildable ??


OK. Firstly, yes; the Death Star is buildable in CG Operation Skyhook.

So in a nutshell it goes like this:

First menu, select Single Player, second menu, select Galactic Conquest (CG), finally choose Operation Skyhook (5/7).

For what it's worth, if you enjoy the depth of the gameplay and like to have lots of options in buildable units/structures/stations/heroes, stick with PR. The vanilla game has simpler gameplay and a different feel to the overall game, but, it has some features that PR doesn't include; targetable harpoints would be a good example. There's also the fact that the two original games take you through a series of scenarios creating an overall story in each game.

mhhh ... sorry - you have missunderstand my post a little bit ;)
(english is not my native language :) )
It was clear for me that the death star is in the orginal campaign buildable.
As i have said (or better wrote ;) ) - i have it not played, but have read the manual and here the parts over the death star ...
The hint with "i have not played other than PR 1.2 ..." was more like you have wrote too - i like VERY much the way PR is going and the aera ...
(was very dissapointet with the ships in RaW mod - its simply not "my" time line - i was grown with the "orginal" star wars movies ;) )

<deleted - confused post :p > corrected post : I will defintilty stay with PR ;) - and look forward to 1.3 and up ...
btw .: If the death star then available in multiplayer games ??

And for the targetable hardpoints .....
As i have imho wrote on another point - i am an fan of true 3D space combat - and so no way is going here without HomeWorld 2 engine ;)
In HW2 it is targetable hardpoints too - but here the collision is correct calculated - you cant hit the hardpoint thrue the ship .....
But it is no workable/finished/bugfree starwars mod ATM available for HW2 - so we musst live with the more simple EaW-FoC engine .... sad but true :p

It would be an way to make hardpoints usable in PR and this in an way it makes sense and realistic .... but its req more work than the default hardpoint usage/implement ....
And i think it was way to much hardpoints on ships - have here only the ships from the RaW mod as example ....
But WITH hardpoints - bombers become really usable again - ATM only in big amounts he can get an good damage ratio on large and heavy ships ...
(and i will be not surprised if by serious overthinking over size of an carrier + estimated available size for fighter/bombers/escorts <> real size of the fighter/bombers/escorts - at the end an much lower carried units value for the most or all carrier come out .....)

mhhh .. this is more an general question - but dont need to start an new thread for this ;)
As i have stated - i never played the stock EaW or EaW-FoC .. only PR1.2 (an testet a half hour the Rebellion at War mod ...) so i dont know ->
is the death star buildable ?? (this fitt maybe in the suggestion from "special ships only buildable on special planets/systems ...)
In the intro battle from PR i see him .....

sorry for my late replay :)

In what way? They are already scaled perfectly in terms of size.


If i remember correct (and if it was not an optical wrong correlation ... :p ) the nebulon frigate have launched lambda shuttles ... and i have realy not seen an "hanger door" who is large enough to get an lamda out ....
But maybe i have the correct size of the 2 ships (nebulon<>lambda) not seen correct - the UI is not so good as in HW2 to take full the "3D" ;)
