It didn't work sadly. I tried running it as admin manually still no dice.

I had this issue also. I posted on these forms but for a reason only G and the admins know it got deleted? (Edit: I think it got deleted... I just couldn't find it after and perhaps something went wrong when I posted. It was my first post after all)

 

Anyway... 

 

Exact same problem CnC online essentially broke the game and even reinstalling it (both CnC online and the game itself) wouldn't fix it. 

 

I eventually found a very old post where someone fixed a "hooking" error by running steam itself in admin mode. The nature of his error sounded similar so I tried it.

 

It works. 

 

Running steam in admin mode fixes the error, but there are strings attached:

-For one, the game is still somehow "broken". If your steam is already open (even when "automatically" set to run as admin) and you try to launch the game it won't work. Exit steam, right click on steam itself, select run as administrator, then run game.

-The hook feature is partially bugged. When the game launches, the CnC online launcher will open (hooked), but then nothing will happen. You now need to click on launch RA3 again here also. 

- I saved the worst for last... Online play doesn't work.

 

That last one is a B. I can still log into the server, find matches, talk in chat (the whole deal). But as soon as someone tries to launch the match they get a 1-2 connection error. Tried hosting myself and same problem. I tried all the usual connection fixes and nothing works. (Edited options.ini file. Firewall exceptions added. ect)

 

So yeah... that sucks...

 

For now you can play the single player campaign by running steam as admin, and that's it. (Also, set both RA3 app and CnC online launcher to run as admin.)

I uh, am not using Steam; I am using the EA Launcher. Also nice information. Also No Online? Yikes I wonder what has happened... I will try your idea of running EA Launcher as Admin and see if that works. If not then I think we'll have to wait it out in post to see if there is a fix for this. Kinda sad to be honest. I was really excited to play Campaign with a pal again.

Reinstalling the game and trying to make C&C Online hook and run again gives the same error.

Hey I am having this same issue too. The game won't load it just shows "Unable to launch Red Alert 3" I tried a lot of different things, reinstalling the game. Reinstalling C&C Online setting admin for the programs and no luck. What could be causing this.
