(THEORY) New Update for Red Alert 3 seems to stop C&C Online from running the game.

08 March 2024 - 11:09 PM

Hi all, I just GOT back to playing online in Red Alert 3, got it working a few days ago I believe March 7th. I Installed Red Alert 3 on my EA Launcher ran it once; worked completely fine. Then I ran C&C Online with it and got some errors, fixed them fine. I did get the DLL error, meaning I was not running in Admin from what I can remember...

NOW, JUST TODAY. I tried running the game again, the game got an update on EA Launcher so I downloaded the update and I tried running it with C&C Online and got the Error. "Unable to launch Red Alert 3"

So I started troubleshooting, made every program that runs the game and C&C Online have Admin Privileges. Still same error. Uninstalled C&C Online and rehooked. Still same error. As of this post dropping down I am reinstalling the game and see if that fixes it. if it doesn't then that means...

The UPDATE broke it. Who knows how long this is going to go for? The main culprit has to be the update because they also put all of the older Command & Conquer games on Steam and also some bonus ones which are nice it was good to see Dungeon Keeper to show up on steam. However moving on, I am here to talk about how this update MIGHT'VE broke the online Compatibility with C&C Online.

If the Error is "Unable to launch Red Alert 3" then it must mean EA has changed the EXE File name and C&C Online can't find it. What was the games original EXE file name before the update came out I wonder. I can't check because I already updated my game.

Good luck Commanders. Also my first time using the forums. So if I placed this in the wrong spot let me know!
