The Scar function Util_NIS_ToggleModifierEvents( player, state ) will remove these unwanted elements (builder icons, cover icons, morale broken).

OK so I finished Chaos Marines and Dark Eldar, and moved to Imperial Guard.

There is a NASTY CTD, when the Valkyries pass for a bombing run.

And it DRIVES ME NUTS!

Before proceeding to alternatives...

 

...A question to the coders:

Util_CreateSquadsAtPosition(g_Player5, "sg_bomber_1", "npc_valkyrie_squad_survival", bombblast_survival_P1[0], 1)
Anim_PlaySGroupAnim("sg_bomber_1", "flyby_left")

The Anim_PlaySGroupAnim("sg_bomber_1", "flyby_left") ALWAYS gives a CTD.

If this line is removed, a Valkyrie model normally appears to the designated spot, ALWAYS (landed of, course). With no issue.

 

Anyone knows a way to fix this??

 

I came up with a couple of solutions to no avail.

I have a couple more (I slept on it :twisted: ). If those fail as well... Ability :thumbsdownsmiley:

 

I had the exact same problem on the Dussala Precinct stronghold mission. I'm not 100% sure about the "flyby_right" and "flyby_center" animations - they will probably cause a crash too, but maybe you could check just to make sure. I couldn't find any solution - in the end I just had to remove the Valkyries from the opening cutscene of the mission.

 

I checked all the relevant files, and the only thing I had different from vanilla was a new texture for the valkyrie model. Doesn't really make sense, as the flyby animations have never caused any problems in the actual single-player campaign where they were originally used (although I haven't actually checked in a while), and this wasn't a problem in the Strongholds mod until a few months back, but now it's a crash every time.

... I could give the existing the ability, and then the ability to have the research as requirement  :p

 

Wouldn't that mean that ALL your squads would then have the aura once the research was granted, not just the bonus squads?

I would love some more HARD testing on ALL winconditions, to make sure they work 100% consistently. I will upload then next Unification build, most possibly on Sunday.

Anyone interested???

Alex, 2.60 is an old version :p

Better NOT use that!!!!

 

Thud has coded many updates since then - in fact, I STRONGLY recommend to use the latest Unification.

There, the LATEST DoWAI implementation is included. And it has some more updates made by both of us. :xcahik_:

 

While it may not be the latest version overall, I believe it is the last version for Dark Crusade - unless more recent versions will also work with Dark Crusade?

I assume you have looked at warning log?

It does not start AT ALL!

I will see if there are any warnings, but we are talking about a clean install, there are no mods...

Anyway, I am working with the DVD version - as always.

 

I'll have the new survival map ready for you by tomorrow.

If the 3p map checks out, do you think you could upload a new beta for us?

Well everything is OK from my end... but I do not like it.

The code is still messy. It is difficult to add or change something, and there are many cross-scar reference vars.

..It was a bad decision to work on what was, in order to make things modular.

 

Today, I started writing many parts FROM SCRATCH.

Once done, the project will be so open, that afterwards even ASSAULT games will be easy to code upon :twisted:

 

But for this, I will need one more week. :mellow:

 

 

If changing the map markers in any way would help this process, just let me know. If it would help in the long-term I'd consider it a wise investment.

I see this causing some problems actually - this AI-controlled attacker would likely capture all of the strategic points/relics around the main attacker's base, rendering them much more vulnerable when the player launches their counterattack at the end of the game.

Ah...

Regardless, we can do something about that, at the appointed time.

 

 

 

Fair enough. My suggestion though would be to run a quick check at the start of the game to find the closest relic and closest four strategic points to the main attacker's start position, and automatically set them to their control. All survival maps have been set up to have these points in close-ish proximity to the attacker, so there shouldn't be any problems with points in the defenders' base switching control.

One minor issue I've found with the Soulstorm IG campaign general - if he has the plasma gun wargear, it will disappear when playing the animation "sp_talk".

Can you add Dawn of War: Strongholds to the list (range 7000000 - 7099999)? It needs to be compatible with all race mods.

Also, shouldn't the various UCS ranges used by Unification itself be included?
