So my grass is not showing 2-faced ingame or WB

07 January 2020 - 01:14 AM

Ive been doing some grass lawn models, generated using a plugin, doing a pretty good job. I unwrapped the UVW and exported model as a mesh with 2-faced option checked (because the grass blades are planes). In w3d viewer it shows up fine but in-game or worldbuilder the backside is invisible? Ive brainstormed for hours trying different settings and things and i cannot get this to work properly. anyone has any experience with that?

Minas Morgul - main menu

28 September 2019 - 10:13 PM

Today I present you a new main-menu/shellmap I've made for patch 1.09. Using vanilla stuff, only some sounds are specific to 1.09. Enjoy! (ps: take some popcorn)

New tree problem

29 July 2019 - 07:39 PM

Hello,

Today I made a palm tree. All good and nice, but when I open it in w3d viewer, i can see the trunk thru the foliage! Any ideas why's that and how to fix it?

My tree foliage is different from EAs, I made a plane then simply added 2-face mode in w3d tools export options. I see their trees have planes with 2 faces, any way to achieve that? ( i tried the "cap" option in the edge edit poly mode, but it turns out ugly results because my planes are curved)

Another question I have, I know there's some wind sway tree animation, is that done somewhere in the model or achieved by the game engine somehow? When i try to import EA's models they kinda ask for a skeleton, (2nd time choose file to import).

I have been unable to find any tree/shrub making tutorial related to bfme or other SAGE games such as C&C. I know there's some people here who successfully added new trees, such as in AotR mod. Help?

Hello all,

I want to present you my mapping tutorial, in 4 parts.

Covers everything you need to know for making a standard skirmish map of EA quality, from the map layout and texturing to final touches and minimap creation.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 4:

I know it's pretty long, could have probably cut more scenes, but I hope it's helpful.

Good luck!
