update:

so I used my pirated TFD for this mod. Still the same thing. The CMD box showed up and stayed, did not go into the game at all. However, if I launch the game from Yuri.exe, The game would become semi C&C:R, the menu music had changed, UI had changed, but there is no GDI and NOD in the skirmish. I think the mod may had been activated, but Ares didn't activate.

mentioning you have a pirated copy does not get help sometimes.... was the TUC in a sealed box? its a download, so if the box was not sealed then you paid $12 for a code that someone else used

yea, it is in a sealed box, with plastic bag over it, very new. Has the music CD, and of course, the code works and now I own all the C&C games. But EA's Origin can be a problem sometimes so I might need to use my pirated copy of TFD again.

Could try going to CNCReload/ares/ folder and adding -CD to the end of ares.bat (or the other batch files if you use debug or windowed modes). If that fails then you could just install CNCReloaded in the original YR folder, since you can easily disable the mod using the launcher.

yea, might as well, it didn't change much YR unlike MO, just adding GDI and NOD into the game. I still would give this a shot before doing it the easy and lazy way.

Never used Reloaded's launcher, but it's quite possible it tries to put some stuff in the original installation folder while others remain in the duplicate folder.

hmm, could be. I think I should go look for a non Origin based YR, that could work.

TFD is reallly cheap like $20

It doesn't matter now since I got TUC already(for $12 on ebay lol). I can try to use the pirated TFD to play this mod since it has the original, unchanged YR in it. No one really goes on this mod's CNCNet so I'll be playing alone either way.

If I read this post right, you want to have 2 copies of Yuri so you can have 2 mods running?   Not a Mental Omega creator, but I am running TFD & TUC on one computer, same hard drive no partion . When I installed TFD, I told it to go where I wanted to (C:Westwood).... When I installed TUC, I let it go where it wanted to (C:Pro/Origin).  So maybe.......... if you can run the download again and if it doesn't tell you it is already install...... instead of letting it wants to go, make a folder like I did on my C drive and label it Westwood and put the game there. Just copying the folder doesn't solve the problem, i remember seeing something like this a couple years ago someone trying to run 2 copies of TFD. I can 2 different mods no problem....

actually, I was able to run original YR and MO now without them interrupting each other. But still can't run C&C:R. I think the problem lies in the copied folder for C&C:R, I tried to run gamemd.exe from that folder directly, an EA windows opens up and said something about a par error. My guess is that C&C:R uses the gamemd file, but the copied gamemd file cannot find Origin due to it being in a totally different filepath. If somehow I can break the copied folder free from Origin and make the gamemd file work without getting the par error, it might make this mod work. I do have TFD, but it is a pirated version, got it from torrent years ago and lies in my external HDD.

I know that this mod will work if I install it in the original Origin path, but then I wouldn't have a clean YR until I disable it.

well it seems that MO and original YR's problem is not related to C&C:R, after all, in order to switch around, I need to go in task manager and terminate YR's executable manualy in order for MO to work, and vice versa.

Problem still exists for C&C:R through. I got past the error message, but the launcher pointed to the original YR path again, if I point it to the copied YR directory, it shows the error.
