Because the MO story isn't as "idealistic" as the RA2 vanilla story. If you hadn't noticed, everyone betrays each other in this campaign, Yuri the Soviets, China the Russians, Foehn Revolt the Chinese, Pacific Front the Allies, etc, and everyone has a different goal in mind. Allies to survive and eventually take back the power they lost, Soviets aim at global domination and kill Yuri, Yuri wants to *unite* everyone, and the Foehn Revolt to save the world. An alliance is really unlikely and even if it happens, once they kill Yuri, they'll stab each other, and they know it.

Does anyone know when is update is gonna release? Within this month or its several months away. Normally an update takes upto
3 to 6 months. But its taking so long, I can't wait. Plz anyone let me know? Sorry for being annoying..

 

Considering this update includes : rebalance of the entire mod, the final campaign missions, which i assume are heavily scripted, rework on the previous campaign missions, new maps, new gamemodes, etc. and all this without getting paid, it's clear you can't expect normal release schedule from them.

To answer your question, no one knows when it's gonna release.

Hey, this was probably asked & answered yet but wasn't there supposed to be a summer update ? If yes, my game is definately not updating. If no, was it cancelled ? 

 

The update is going to be released when it's done. 

 

Apparently the 2018 summer will end today, so if the update isn't released today, I propose we all go to speeder's house and throw calendars at his window.

May I suggest of renaming the "Covert Operations" missions into "Special Operations" instead?


Agree. Many mistake Co-Op with Covert Ops or vice versa. Calling them Spec Ops would erase the confusion

You did a good job making the voice lines sound like they belong on a cnc game,thanks for the effort.


thank you. There is still something missing imo, that would make them exactly like in the vanilla game. I'm trying to figure it out.

Also, a little update on this topic. I messaged speeder, and he told me it is one of the things he has been thinking about for a while now. As I mentioned, every voice requires it's own preset and effect, so it will take quite a bit of work to do it for all the voices. When it will be implemented is unclear, but good to know it is in the devs plan.

Yeah, the same in Happy Birthday. The enemy sold out and sent everything to my base, killed them all, and the mission wouldn't end. Same in Ghost Hunt, same in Memory Dealer

 

 

This is one of the major issues with the campaign of this mod. The maps are huge and detailed, so it's really hard to spot a lost enemy, considering that lost enemy has to die to complete the mission. How tf do you even spot a ghost miner? If you destroy the ore refinery, then he just doesn't move anymore.

 

Even if the reason for killing everything is story related, sometimes it doesn't make sense.

For example in Happy Birthday, why do we even have to destroy the whole allied presence over there. The main objective is to kill the president. It's true we have to storm the base to get him to evacuate, but once Morales kills him, and gets to the choppa, it should be mission accomplished. Done.

i'm back and i think this is the closer i can get to acomplishing the radio effect

 

 

i tried to do it on multiple kinds of voices, quiet ones like charon, heavy accent like amc, normal ones like cavailler and blizzard, and...odd ones, like tyrant and kappa.

 

ofc i can make them louder , without having that earrape problem.

 

so what do you guys think?

I messed around a bit and tried to copy the effect. Here is the result.


Sounds very cool and it's a great idea.

Is this the same effect with the same parameters applied for each voice line? It seems from the video different units will require more specific tweaks to make them sound consistent. You'd need to obtain the raw audio files (if Speeder likes the idea) that haven't been compressed, apply the effects, then compress them. I'd imagine this would preserve the sound quality better.

exactly. Firstly I need speeder's approval (the video is not the final result, when I go home I will try again and post a final version, and see if he likes it) Yep, it's the same effect applied for all voices, but I realize from the feedback that some voices need different tweaks. I'll work on that. I'll try to work with a multitude of voice types, loud and quiet ones (except for heroes) If speeder aproves, and gives me the voicefiles, it will be done until 3.3.5

The voice lines have that effect that makes them sound like they're heard from radio.

 

Now give a listen to this, especially the Abrams:

 

 

The voice acting is great, but it doesn't have that radio effect. Then you have the Oxidizer, which, oddly enough, HAS the radio effect. Listen closely. I don't know how to put it in words....you have to listen. The same applies to Norio.

 

Is it possible to do the same for ALL the voice acting in the mod? I'm no sound expert, but i'm sure someone can edit the voice lines to have that effect. The problem is : can it be implemented? I'd try it myself, but I understand it's very hard to get the assets of this mod.

I made this list cuz I want to play the whole campaign on mental following this order, for things to make more sense lorewise.

Surprised at Yunru's attitude through the mission. You would think she would feel bad for killing hundreds of people, but she's all sassy towards the proselyte, and taunts him numerous times. I love how even Yuri got pissed off and deployed Libra. Also, like in Thread of Dread, there is no Mission Accomplished screen. Yunru: 2 - Proselyte and Soviet General: 0

I can't wait to play all missions on Mental. I'll try not to look at any walktroughs, not even for Singularity, considering it's the only mission I haven't completed yet.

Here's how I see things: The Foehn Revolt was founded by the Chinese and other unknown parties. We know Yunru is one of the founders, because of her appearance in Thread of Dread. They want to use this new faction to eradicate the epsilon and Yuri. However, I get the feeling that China doesn't have the intention of stopping there, they will try to destroy all of their enemies, including Russia. Remember, they have been working at Foehn Revolt since they captured Volkov and the Kanegawa Industries.
So...China will use the Foehn Revolt to finish off the epsilon and Russia, and probably everyone to oppose them. Yunru will be against this, and she will try to cut all ties with China.
I saw the preview image of Nobody Home. My guess is that we'll have to escort some important cargo through the city, with the Chinese on our tail.
